2019 Jeep Wrangler

The front left (drivers side) caliper stuck and the the brake line needs replaced. The caliper sticking was causing extreme heat that could have caused a fire as well as brake failure. The repair shop confirmed that the parts need replaced. No warning messages were ever appear. Additionally, the left brake line from Mopar is not available and there are almost a 1000 on back order. The Jeep is not drivable and no parts available for the foreseeable future to fix the problem.

Instrument panel cluster has malfunctioned. Spedometer, tachometer, odometer, fuel guage, oil temperature, tire pressuer, and several other dashboard displays both analog and digital are not functional. The instruments on the dashboard have gone blank and do not provide a reading when the car is powered on. As a consequence of the instrument panel cluster failure, I am unable to see my exact speed, potential vehicle warning indications, and fuel levels while operating the vehicle putting the safety of myself and others at risk. The vehichle has a history of dealership and mechanic inspections. No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms were evident prior to the failure of the instrument panel cluster.

Instrument panel cluster failure in my 2019 jeep wrangler unlimted sport. instrument panel cluster +9 Stellantis (Jeep) recalled certain 2019 Jeep Wranglers (Campaign 24V-652 or Recall #30B) because their 3.5-inch instrument panel clusters can short-circuit and go completely dark. This causes you to lose your speedometer and critical warning lights, increasing crash risks. Dealers replacement . Thing is none of all 4 are honoring this recall. Im having the same issues as this recall. FCA, NHTSA, CHRYSLER/JEEP, STELLANTIS. ALL 4 i have called even made a complaint and all i get is so rry cant help you cause my vin number is not on the recall yet having the same recall issues. The 48V eTorque Power Pack Unit (PPU), BPCM, and associated cables failed on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, causing the vehicle to stall and lose all acceleration while driving on the highway. All components are available for inspection upon request. In June 2025, a non-Jeep service center identified stored diagnostic code P0A9C-00 (48V hybrid battery temperature sensor circuit performance failure) along with multiple low voltage codes in the power steering system. The technician noted the issue needed to be addressed by an authorized Jeep dealer, as there was insufficient information to perform a repair on the 48V hybrid system. In September 2025, while driving on the highway, the engine stalled and the vehicle completely lost acceleration and would not restart. The vehicle required towing to an authorized Jeep dealer. A sudden and unexpected loss of acceleration and engine stall on a highway creates an extreme risk of rear-end collision and potential serious injury or fatality to the driver and other motorists. The problem was confirmed by an authorized FCA/Jeep dealer who found the same diagnostic code P0A9C-00, along with corrosion buildup on the 48V connector pins and BPCM pins. Two separate FCA STAR cases were opened by the dealer. The Power Pack Unit Battery was identified as the failed component. The dealer confirmed that the 48V cables required for repair are currently unavailable through Chrysler under any parts specifier, meaning FCA cannot supply the necessary parts to remedy this known defect. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized FCA dealer on two separate occasions nine months apart, with the defect remaining unresolved on both visits due to FCA parts unavailability. Warning symptoms including low voltage codes and the P0A9C-00 fault code were first identified in June 2025, approximately three months before the highway stall event, indicating this was a progressive and worsening defect. Went to start the jeep and the entire dash cluster was out. I had just gotten it serviced 2 days before it went out and there was no warning or indication that the cluster panel was damaged. Due to this issue I’m unable to see any speed, gas levels, signaling, oil level and any other signal indicators from the dash. This is extremely problematic and renders the vehicle unsafe to drive. It was inspected by the dealership and another mechanic and both parties confirmed the dash cluster was broken and needed to be replaced and that several other 2019-2020 jeep wranglers had been brought in with the same problem.

3 calipers seized at the same time. Replaced all 3. After leaving the mechanic my front passenger seized again, went back to the mechanic & they re did the caliper. A week later the front passenger seized again. They replaced the hose (hose was clamped) 3 days later the front passenger hose clamped again causing the caliper to seize.

In June 2025, I had the clutch recall (NHTSA 23V-116) performed on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler at AutoNation Jeep Southwest in Littleton Colorado. Prior to this recall repair, the vehicle had no transmission faults or warning lights. Following the recall work, I began experiencing a recurring 'Service Transmission' warning. On a return visit, the dealership discovered they had incorrectly reinstalled the shifter cables during the recall repair, making it difficult to shift into first gear. The cables were redone. The 'Service Transmission' warning continued after the cable rework. The dealership performed a software flash on a subsequent visit, which did not resolve the issue. The vehicle later experienced a 'Service Transmission' warning accompanied by a clutch overheat alert and limp mode activation. The dealership has since diagnosed fault codes P082C and P082F (gear lever position sensor circuit high) and is recommending a transmission range sensor replacement at my expense. The dealership has acknowledged they cannot confirm the root cause of these codes. When I contacted Jeep Customer Care, they called the dealership and accepted their assessment that the issue is unrelated to the recall repair. I believe the ongoing fault codes are a direct result of the defective recall remedy, specifically the incorrect shifter cable installation and subsequent cable disturbance during rework. I am requesting NHTSA investigate whether the recall remedy as performed at this dealership is defective.

After diagnostics of multiple 'no communication' codes, it was determined that the CAN buss star connector was faulty. The part has been replaced, but is available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The malfunction caused repeated warning lights and loss of steering at unpredictable times. Luckily I was always able to put on my hazard lights and get out of the path of traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, a variety of warning lamps and messages over a period of 10-12 days, which would disappear after restarting the vehicle (restarting was necessary to get the steering working again). Messages such as traction control, auto on/off, and check engine light were a few different ones. They came and went so quickly it was hard to catch them all while I was focused on getting safely off the road.

I was driving my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara 2.0T/AT to the gym with my spouse. No Check Engine Light, Jeep Temps were perfect. Instrument panel cluster dashboard failure, found a massive recall online for Wranglers 2018-2024 for this issue, called dealer who informed us our VIN was not under this recall, but we have a Wranger 2019 with the same issue so should definitely qualify. Called JEEP who informed us our VIN was not under this recall and they won’t do anything about it. This issue is deemed a SAFETY HAZZARD per recall, and we do qualify but they say our VIN specifically does not. This has to be illegal as well as unsafe. Unable to see mileage, gas, safety alerts, etc. because of outage.

RE: Safety Concern – Instrument Cluster Failure Consistent with NHTSA Recall 24V-652 Dear Sir or Madam: Regarding our 2019 jeep wrangler vin# Milage of 74602.9 on 3-22-26 We are writing to report a safety-related defect involving a 2019 Jeep vehicle exhibiting instrument cluster malfunction consistent with conditions described in NHTSA Recall No. 24V-652 (FCA US LLC). Although this vehicle is not currently included within the recall’s identified VIN population, it is exhibiting substantially similar symptoms, including: Intermittent loss of speedometer function Tachometer irregularities Intermittent or complete failure of the instrument cluster display Recall 24V-652 identifies a defect in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) which may result in loss of critical driver information. As recognized by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, such failures may increase the risk of a crash due to the driver’s inability to accurately monitor vehicle speed and operating conditions. Given the similarity between the observed condition and the defect described in the recall, this raises a concern that the issue may extend beyond the currently defined VIN range. Accordingly, we request: A formal review of this vehicle for potential inclusion within Recall 24V-652 or any related service campaign; and Appropriate corrective action consistent with applicable safety and warranty obligations. Jeep Wranglers in the older/early models had aluminum steering steering boxes that would have excessive play do to thermal expansion. Jeep never made it recall but did provide a TSB NUMBER: 08-074-20 REV. B GROUP: 08- Electrical DATE: September 26, 2020. The TSB would recommend the aluminum steering box be replaced with a steel one. The issue is that many dealers refused to do the fix/change parts for free under or out of warranty. Its clearly an issue as later/newer models of the Jeep JL Wrangler started shipping with the steel steering box.

Since new Jeep has experienced "excess play in the steering" the Jeeps steering "wanders" and vehicle pulls to both the left and right. Steering wandering increases in hot temperatures and at higher speeds and becomes UNSAFE to operate the vehicle. When purchasing new, I noticed the "excess play in the steering", but was told by the Jeep salesperson that "that's how Jeeps drive" and "They do not drive like typical passenger vehicles". I did not take my Jeep in for service for this issue because the salesperson told me that this is how the vehicle is designed to drive. However, I recently found out that Jeep issued a Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B back on September 26, 2020 that addresses this issue of "excess play in the steering" and "wandering" and the TSB gives recommendations to fix the steering by installing a new and improved Steering Gear Box that is made from steel as opposed to aluminum. I took my Jeep into a Jeep dealership with regards to this issue. The Jeep dealership confirmed that I have the "old style" steering gearbox mentioned in Technical Service Bulletin #08-074-20 REV.B and recommended that I replace it with the new design as recommended by the TSB. I asked Jeep to repair by vehicle free of charge as this is a "known" issue on Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 as described in the TSB, but Jeep refused to pay for the safetly modification to my steering, stating that I am "out of the warranty period". This is a KNOWN manufacture defect. Jeep installed inferior aluminum steering gear boxes on their Jeep Wrangler JL 2018-2020 and 2020 Jeep Gladiators and they have since upgraded that critical safety component to a "steel version." Jeep should without question issue a "recall" to fix all current Jeep owners 2018-2020 Wrangler JLs and 2020 Jeep Gladiators that have a faulty aluminum steering gear box and replace it with the upgraded steel version that fixes the "wandering steering" and "excess play in the steering".

around august of 2025 the gauge cluster went black and i can no longer see my total miles, gas gauge, and any warning lights that may appear on screen i.e. door ajar. because of this, i have almost gotten in car accidents because my gas runs out unknowingly. one time it put me in serious danger on the interstate having to add gas while cars were flying past me. there were no warning lights, check engine lights, or any other lights that would suggest failure. it just went black one day random day. we recently got into a car accident, this occurred after it had gone out and upon inspection the mechanic confirmed it was not associated with the accident and suggested looking into recall because jeep currently has recalls on gauge clusters, which is why i am reporting now. it is available for inspection upon request.

Instrument cluster panel - while driving, my cluster panel occasionally glitches before returning to normal. Ultimately, when I was on the highway, it all went black. Nothing is visible anymore. I can’t tell if I need gas, if my tires are low, if an oil change is due, or if there are any warnings I should be aware of. Essentially, all the information I require is missing. This occurred during the 3rd year I owned the car, but it only happened a handful of times. The belt-driven starter generator failed after just 3 years of having the brand new car. Fortunately, it was included in the powertrain warranty, so it was repaired. However, I recall experiencing the same problem, and everything in my car was malfunctioning, including the radio. At that moment, I believed that was the source of the issue because it hadn't happened for quite some time. After I resolved that issue, about a year later, my cluster began to malfunction again with the glitching. It would glitch for a short period and then return to normal. However, this time it’s even worse, and now it’s completely black.

I am reporting a defect with the driver-side sun visor on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The sun visor mounting mechanism is faulty and has broken/detached during normal use. When this occurs, the visor drops down unexpectedly and obstructs the driver’s forward view. This creates a serious safety hazard, as the visor can suddenly block visibility while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash. Concern: Suspension, steering, and electrical system malfunction Description of the Problem: While driving at highway speeds (approximately 75 mph), the vehicle experiences a wiggling or unstable sensation in the suspension, making the car feel unsafe. At the same time, the steering wheel becomes stiff and difficult to turn. Additionally, a warning message appears stating “Service Shifter.” When this occurs, the electrical system freezes, affecting vehicle functions. This electrical malfunction lasts for 1 to 2 days, during which systems do not respond properly before eventually resetting on their own. Safety Concern: The suspension instability, loss of steering responsiveness, and electrical failure at high speeds present a serious safety risk to the driver and others on the road. Filing this complaint regarding a known safety defect affecting my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sport - specifically the steering damper column defect commonly referred to as "Death Wobble." ISSUE: My vehicle experiences violent and uncontrollable steering wheel oscillation when hitting bumps or road imperfections at highway speeds (typically above 55 mph). This phenomenon causes the entire front end to shake violently, requiring me to immediately slow down to regain control of the vehicle. This poses an extreme safety risk to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. I believe my vehicle has an issue with steering damper failure - the exact same defect addressed in Customer Satisfaction Notification V41 issued by FCA in June 2019. THE PROBLEM: While FCA issued CSN V41 covering approximately 192,000 2018-2019 Jeep Wranglers for steering damper defects, however my VIN was excluded from this notification despite experiencing the identical safety defect. FCA selectively applied the remedy to certain VINs rather than addressing all affected vehicles from these model years. SAFETY CONCERNS: This defect creates loss of vehicle control at highway speeds, significantly increasing crash risk. The NHTSA investigation (PE19-012) identified frame weld quality deficiencies and steering-related defects in 2018-2019 Wranglers affecting approximately 270,000 vehicles. Multiple investigations have documented steering looseness, steering wobble/shimmy, and loss of steering control in these model years. MANUFACTURER REFUSAL: Despite the known defect and my vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms addressed in CSN V41, I believe once I take it in for service, Jeep will refuse to repair this safety issue under warranty, forcing me to bear the financial burden for a known manufacturing defect. REQUEST: I request NHTSA investigate why FCA limited CSN V41 to select VINs when the defect clearly affects a broader population of 2018-2019 Wranglers.

The instrument cluster has stop functioning and you can't see milage, gas or any of the warning lights within the cluster panel. I was not in an accident but wanted to report the problem of the cluster since my jeep was not included in the recall. I have an estimate of 1,600. for a repair from jeep mechanic.I feel that it should have been included in the recall.

The problem occurs in my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, suddenly, typically after hitting a small bump or uneven section of pavement at around 60–70 mph. The entire front end begins to shake violently, and the steering wheel jerks rapidly back and forth, making it extremely difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. The only way to stop the shaking is to brake hard and slow down below 50 mph, which creates a dangerous situation. This violent steering vibration causes loss of directional stability and could easily lead to an accident if it happens in traffic or during lane changes. The sensation is so severe that it feels as if the front suspension or wheels are coming loose. I brought my Jeep to Wallace Jeep in Stuart, Florida where the technicians confirmed steering instability but stated that the steering damper is covered but the steering gear is not covered under warranty. I also contacted Jeep Cares, case # [XXX], and was told that Jeep “does not have to cover” my vehicle, even though it falls directly within the affected 2018–2020 Wrangler JL range identified in the [XXX]. v. FCA US LLC class action settlement related to the Death Wobble. The dealership’s refusal contradicts Jeep’s own Technical Service Bulletin 08-074-20 REV. E (“Improved Steering Feel”), which addresses steering wander, pull, and excessive play by replacing the steering gear and updating the EHPS software — exactly the symptoms I’m experiencing. This is a serious safety issue that occurs without warning and has not been resolved through the repairs or coverage Jeep has offered. The manufacturer’s denial of responsibility despite a known defect leaves drivers at risk of losing control at highway speeds. I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate and require Jeep/Stellantis to expand the recall or provide full coverage for all steering-related components contributing to this dangerous condition. The internal cluster went out all of a sudden. Stenallis has no part for us to repair it with. We have been without the car and no loaner for almost 4 months. There is a recall on this part on this model in this year. However, Stenallis won't recall my particular car which is currently affected. The recall should expand because it is on more models than they admit.

We have a failed internal cluster on 1c4hjxdn8kw649723 . There was recall vehicle is covered under recall 30B / 24V-652. However, Sternalis will not recall our vehicle. It has been almost 4 months without a cluster. We are not allowed to buy one and Sternalis won't supply one for us to purchase.

My 2019 Jeep Wrangler has a defective instrument cluster panel. The entire cluster is completely non-functional — I cannot see the speedometer, fuel gauge, warning lights, or odometer at all. This makes it impossible to monitor the vehicle’s speed, fuel level, or safety warnings while driving, creating a very serious safety hazard. I understand Jeep has already issued recall 24V-652 (Chrysler 30B) for defective cluster panels for 2019 and other Wrangler model years, but my VIN is not included even though I am experiencing the same issue. I am requesting that this defect be investigated and my vehicle added to the recall.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. The wiring harness for the rearview camera and the center brake light may short circuit, which can disable the rearview camera image and center brake light. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 111, "Rear Visibility" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, a center brake light that fails to illuminate can fail to indicate to other drivers that the vehicle is slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers replaced the harness for the center brake light and rearview camera and/or the spare tire carrier/harness assembly, as necessary, free of charge. All vehicles were repaired by January 15, 2024. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Optionally, owners can choose to remotely update their software via an Over-The-Air (OTA) update available as of May 1, 2020. The recall began April 27, 2020. Risk: An unexpected reduction in steering ability, can increase the risk of a crash.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2019 Jeep Wrangler and 2019 Ram 1500 vehicles. These vehicles have improperly machined steering column stub shafts that may break, possibly causing the steering wheel to detach from the steering column.

Risk: If the steering wheel detaches from the steering column, the driver may lose control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of crash.
