I got in my car and started driving home from work then I heard something just shatter and when I looked back my rear windshield was completely shattered. I pick up my nieces and nephews and drive other peoples children to their appointments. This could have caused a serious injury should I have experienced it during a time I have little kids in my backseat. I am taking it to Gardena Honda first thing in the morning for an inspection. I have seen other people report this issue on 2023-2025 Hondas and after comparing my windshield to theirs its literally the same. There were no warning signs that flashed it was so crazy.

We had an accident with my Honda HRV where we rear-ended another vehicle. Right before the crash, a message showed on the dashboard that the brakes system isn't working. Also the airbag didn't deploy. We suspect a technical failure that caused the accident. The Car was towed and then totaled. We had to go to the ER twice. The problem hasn't been confirmed by a dealer yet, and I opened a case with Honda US. It's been a week now and no response yet from Honda US. There was a light snow on that day.

My front windshield developed a crack starting at the base near the wipers, and nothing hit it or caused any obvious damage. It started off really small but has gradually gotten bigger over time. The car is available if anyone needs to inspect it. The crack is a safety concern because it can affect visibility, especially with glare from sunlight or headlights at night, and if it keeps spreading it could weaken the windshield. My drivers side front window shattered while I was driving on XXX Since it’s shattered, the window itself isn’t available for inspection. There were no prior cracks to the window and nothing hit my window when the it shattered. I was going 75 mph on the highway and had two passengers in my car. I ended up with glass all over me. Luckily, i was wearing sunglasses, so none it went in my eyes. I didn’t swerve or lose control of the vehicle, but myself and the two passengers could have been seriously injured as a result of this defect. I am unaware of whether this problem has been confirmed by a dealer or independent safety center in other vehicles besides my own. I did take my car to the Honda dealership in [XXX] where I bought it from, and they will look at it tomorrow during business hours. Honda hrv 2025 malfunctioning when brake hold system is activated. Brake hold system lets individuals use the brake whenever needed without your foot having to be on the pedal the entire time. You can come to a red light, step on the pedal and take your foot off the pedal and the car will remain stopped until you press on the gas. Over the course of leasing this vehicle sometimes the brake system problem message would show but it would disappear right away. I let the dealership know of this issue when I got my first oil change but since the message wasn’t currently displayed on the dashboard they did not attend to it. Earlier this week the car suddenly glitches when brake hold is activated and deactivates itself followed by All kinds of messages on the dash. I will upload them here to see. From brake system,TPMS, hill start assist all malfunction and when you turn the car off it doesn’t start back up automatically. This is a serious safety concern as the brake system malfunction and car not turning on can happen suddenly when driving causing injury to myself and those around me. A simple google search shows that this is common for this vehicle make, model and year however no recall has been filled.

While driving on highway under 40mph, the brakes and steering wheel locked simultaneously. I was unable to control the car—pressing the foot brake and emergency brake did not stop the car and I could not steer as the wheel was locked. I ended up on the side of the road alongside a wall of snow. The dashboard was lighting up throughout this time with rotating emergency messaging—TPMS, transmission, brake system, flat tire, etc. There were no warning messages displayed and complete control of the car was taken away without warning. It was 530am so I was lucky there was no one else on the road or else this could have led to a fatal accident. The car was towed to the dealer and they said it was an electronic brake booster that went bad, but are unsure if this caused both the brake and steering failure. The dealer has not been transparent or helpful. They initially said there was nothing wrong with the car and that it was safe to drive. I reported it to Honda corporate and they have not gotten back—triaged as level 1 incident due to severity.

Multiple times in the last year, I would be driving and it felt like my steering wheel would stick when navigating turns on the road, enough so that I would be turning my hands to turn the wheel and I would feel resistance like the car was slightly trying to fight me on the direction I wanted to go. Enough so that myself and others who have driven my vehicle have also noticed the random slight resistance. I can see that there is a recall for this exact problem with the same year make and model for my car, but for some reason my VIN does not come up under recall when I search it, even though I have experienced the problem that is being recalled. I’m worried that it is going to happen at a crucial moment and I would just like to know if my car should in fact be part of the recall list and for some reason is not.

We experienced two problems with our Honda HRV, which was purchased in June 2025 (less than a year ago). The first issue is that the engine started displaying warning lights and would not turn on. This was due to rodents chewing on the wires, which were apparently soy-based plastic. The second issue is that the rear windshield shattered for no reason the other day. This is apparently a known issue with 2023 and 2024 HRV vehicles that led to a recall, but it also appears to be occurring with the 2025 HRV.

My vehicle, 2025 Honda HRV EX-L is experiencing paint defects. It does not even have 3000 miles on it, and the paint is peeling. The color is Crystal Black Pearl, and even though outdoor elements are removed from the vehicle immediately, the car is still experiencing paint damage. The paint is cracking and peeling off in multiple areas where outside elements have hit it (tree sap, bird poop, pollen, etc.), the damage is still occurring even if removed immediately. Honda will not honor their paint defect warranty, as they claim this is environmental damage that would not be covered under their paint defect warranty. I was informed that their paint warranty only covers events where the paint is bubbling and cracking from under the paint, or rust is occurring. This defect is happening on a new vehicle, whereas older modeled black vehicles at the same residence, who leaves these environmental elements on the cars longer than I, do not experience the same damage in the slightest. Another vehicle within the same household that was purchased at the same Honda Dealership, about 2 months prior to my purchase, same environment/neighborhood/outside exposure, just different make (CRV) and color (blue) and isn't experiencing paint damage like this black crystal pearl color on the HR-V. Having to pay over $2000 out of pocket to fix the paint on these areas.

Driving at night on rural interstate with clear weather. Car driving at ~75 mph when the emergency breaking engaged. There was no traffic in front and thankfully none behind. The brakes locked in and the transmission downshifted to stop. Again nothing in front. IF someone would had been behind me, they could not have stopped time with combination of braking and downshifting. Approximately 2 hours latter, this emergency braking system locked again for no apparent reason. The car has <10k miles and again the weather was clear with no rain, fog, etc., pavement dry and no wind. There was limited traffic and no obvious bright street lighting to interfer.

I purchased my car in December 26, 2024 brand new. in January 2025 I had a rock hit my windshield which caused a crack. I had it replaced. Then in June and another rock hit my windshield, which caused another crack, and that windshield was replaced again on August 6, 2025. Within 3 weeks of having it replaced a small piece of gravel hit the windshield causing another crack which I have not replaced yet. Since the last crack, I now have an additional crack cause by another small piece of gravel. I contacted the Honda dealer to which they said "sorry you just have bad luck" I have also filed a complaint with Honda customer service. I've done a little digging, and this seems to be a trend with the new 2025 HR-V body style. I'm concerned that if the windshield is this easy to break with small gravel what would happen if something larger was to hit the windshield? it could potentially lead to serious injury. In my uploaded pictures I have photos of current damage, and my first invoice from January. if needed I can obtain the invoice from the second repair in August. the pictures I've uploaded happened after the August 6th 2025 repair.

While parking my car and going under 20 mph, my car suddenly accelerated. My foot was not on the brake or the accelerator when this occurred. While I was driving, my sunroof on my 2025 Honda HRV EXL exploded. There was nothing that hit it or caused the sunroof to break. I know this due to there being no rock or material inside the area below the sunroof. Also, I would have heard an additionally sound if there were other objects involved, but instead it was one loud crash. I was able to get into contact with a Honda dealership in San Diego and they told me that someone had brought their vehicle in about a month ago for that same issue. I also did some research and found that previous years (2024/2023) Honda HRV's and CRV's have had similar issues. I took my car to Honda to get it fixed today and asked them to inspect it for a manufacturer error and hopefully replace it free of charge since this vehicle was purchased in April 2025. They told me that I would have to pay for the damage and file a complaint with corporate. I compared a picture of my sunroof to sunroofs from previous owners' vehicles that have also claimed that it simply "exploded" and they look identical. A picture of my sunroof and a sunroof that was hit by a rock or other debris do not look the same at all.

I have had a problem with the worm wheel steering box since I first purchased this vehicle. Being new to HONDA, I thought driving the vehicle was supposed to be rough and shaky. However, after some time, I knew it was not normal. I first reached out to HONDA in September and have consistently gotten the run around. I then made another appointment back in October to report it, then was told there was a recall. I asked if I could make an appointment and they said they have no parts, not sure when they will get parts because its on back-order. I went in again in November and my appointment to have the recall looked at was cancelled, therefore they did just an oil change that day. I followed up during that appointment, and was told, again they are unsure when or if they will get parts for the recall. I drive long distances and living in Alaska at very cold temperatures this seems to affect the driving even more. It's at the point of being unsafe to drive. This is a new 2025 Honda HRV, and I am highly disappointed with the service or lack of priority when a Honda Customer with a new vehicle is having safety concerns.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.

Risk: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.
