My worry is the airbag. Is it a Takata airbag? From my understanding these airbags are dangerous. So is there a recall to have them fixed. And if so , can I take it to my local chevy dealer.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where it was discovered that the fuel regulator was leaking. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V500000 (Fuel System, Other). The vehicle was then towed to a dealer however, the dealer refused to service the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

My spouse was driving our family south on Hwy 101 at about 50 mph near Arch Cape, Oregon on June 25, 2022 during 93 degree weather. Just before Falcon Cove state park as we were going up a hill and people were braking to turn into the park, my spouse yelled "we have no brakes". The brakes were hard as a wall and he was using both feet to get us to slow down. I could not feel us slowing. It was utterly terrifying. He did finally get us slowed down likely due to the weight we were carrying and the hill. But the brakes were so terrible we couldn't even park in a space because we might go down the cliff (hill/slope). We had no cell service and I couldn't get anyone to help us so I ran up and down hills trying to get service in that heat. Finally, my spouse said we'd have to get back into the truck and drive to get service. I reluctantly let him drive us slowly to the next AND LAST lookout at the top of the mountain. I still didn't have enough bars to call out but we couldn't go further because it would be a downslope with a cliff to the ocean on the right. I called 911 who patched me to a tow. The mechanic said it was the brake vacuum pump. He ordered the part and saved it. We were charged $595.27 for the tow, parts, and labor. I researched and learned of the GM recall on the brake pump for 3.7 million vehicles and your investigation that closed 4/2022. It appears they were supposed to reprogram so there was more brake time or notice of failure. I contacted the dealer where we religiously service (I believe this repair is the ONLY time anyone else serviced this vehicle). I had them send me the complete service history (warranty and recall) included for BOTH of our trucks as they both fall under the recall. I could not find this reprogramming. I asked them to point it out and they're unresponsive. I'm still on vacation but clearly this is dangerous for everyone on the road. I have so much more to say and not enough characters remain. Reopen this investigation NOW!!!

MOTOR HOME / CAMPER BODY. PARKED FOR THE WINTER. PLUGGED IN BUT OCCASIONALLY RUN TO ENSURE BATTERIES ARE CHARGED. VEHICLE HAS 25,400 MILES ON IT. OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE ABOUT 20 F. STARTED VEHICLE AND DASH DISPLAYS WARNINGS: ENGINE OPERATING AT REDUCED POWER AND ENGINE OVERHEATED A/C TURNED OFF. SCANNED THE ECM FOR CODES AND WAS ABLE TO CLEAR THESE TWO MALFUNCTION INDICATORS. THE TOOL ALSO REVEALED A PREMIANT CODE OF "P1682 (1/1), IGNITION 1 SWITCH CIRCUIT 2". MODULE # : $7E8 AND MODULE# $7EA. THIS CODE WILL NOT CLEAR UNTIL A REPAIR IS MADE. RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS IGNITION PROBLEM IS PREVALENT AMONG MANY MAKES AND MODELS OF CHEVROLET AND GM VEHICLES BETWEEN THE YEARS FROM 2014 TO 2018. AND COULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL WHILE BEING DRIVEN. RESEARCH ALSO SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM GENERALLY OCCURS WHEN THE WEATHER IS WARMER. NOT WHEN IT IS AS COLD AS IT WAS WHEN MY MALFUNCTION OCCURRED. ODDLY, IN SPITE OF THE PREVALENCE OF THIS PROBLEM AMONG CHEVY AND GM VEHICLE FOR THOSE YEARS, THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL.

PART 573 SAFETY RECALL REPORT 17V-414 HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN MOTION, ON A CITY STREET, HIGHWAY, TURNING, AT A VARIETY OF SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE TEMPORARILY LOSES POWER AND POWER STEERING. THE STABILITRACK AND STEERING ASSIST INDICATORS APPEARS ON DASHBOARD. SOMETIMES THE POWER RETURNS, OTHER TIMES I WILL HAVE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, REPOSITION KEY, AND RESTART THE ENGINE. I HAD VEHICLE SERVICED BY DEALERSHIP EARLIER THIS YEAR, AND MY VIN DID NOT MATCH ANY RECALLS. THEY COULDN'T IDENTIFY THE ISSUE AND SUGGESTED I REPLACE THE BATTERY. I REPLACED THE GOOD BATTERY WITH A NEW BATTERY, AND STILL EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE. THIS OCCURS MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK, SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY, AND HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR AT LEAST A YEAR..

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vehicles equipped with power windows. Liquid may leak into the driver's power window switch and cause corrosion, resulting in high electrical resistance.

Risk: High electrical resistance can increase the risk of a fire.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side window switch, free of charge. The recall began August 10, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18155.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana incomplete vehicles equipped with a 159 inch wheel base manufactured August 2, 2013, to January 30, 2016. The affected vehicles were shipped to final stage manufacturers without a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."

Risk: Without a TPMS, the driver would not be alerted if one or more tires became under inflated. Driving with under inflated tires increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install the hardware and software necessary to equip the vehicles with a TPMS, free of charge. The recall began on May 25, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15819.

In the affected vehicles, the chassis electronic module may be internally contaminated, resulting in an electrical short.

Risk: If the module experiences an electrical short, the vehicle could stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD, Chevrolet Express, and GMC Sierra HD vehicles, and model year 2013 GMC Savana compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles that fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 303 "Fuel System Integrity of Compressed Natural Gas Vehicles."
