Two warming lights come on when I turn the steering wheel - the ABS and the stability control light. When I turn the steering wheel both of these lights turn on. I viewed a video about this problem and the suggestion was made that the problem could be a safety issue and that it might be corrected by setting the car on a level spot and then turning the key to the on position (but not starting it) and then turn the steering wheel as far as it would go to the right and then to the left as far as it will go. Then turn the key to turn the car on. The problem I had trying that was that the steering wheel seemed to be locked in its neutral position so I was unable to perform that fix.

I purchased a vehicle August 2, 2024 from Kingdom auto sales. The car was inspected July 2024 in which it passed shortly after the car wouldn’t go over 40 mph. It would say it’s an over speed. The car runs hot and the parking assist light won’t go off May 25, 2025 I was driving on the highway in the car lost power and the speed was reduced after getting off the highway lost control of the steering wheel due to the stability and hit a guard rail. no reports was made. I contacted the dealership in which I haven’t been contacted and problem not resolved.

THE SAID VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED AT LOGANVILLE AUTO CENTER. WHEN I WENT TO PICK IT UP ON FEBRUARY 9, 2024, THE MECHANIC CAME OUT AND SHOWED ME THAT TWO OF THE TUBES WERE LEAKING AND THIS WOULD BECOME A SERIOUS PROBLEM. HE GAVE A RECALL SHEET ISSUED ON DECEMBER 13, 2023 THAT THERE WAS A RECALL INVOLVING OUR CAR FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. I CALLED GM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY STATED THAT OUR CAR DIDN'T COME OUT OF THE BARN THEY WERE RECALLING. I EXPLAINED TO THEM IT WAS ALREADY HAPPENING TO OUR CAR AND THE PERSON STATED THAT OUR VIN NUMBER MAY BE ADDED LATER. I CALLED ON APRIL 8TH AND THEY STATED IT HAD NOT BEEN ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. THIS CAR ONBLY HAS 61,230 MILES ON IT. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL BECAUSE THEY KNOW THAT IS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN WHAT VIN NUMBERS THEY HAVE INCLUDED.

The car continues to have serious engine issues. I keep getting a service Stability track and Engine Power Reduced warning. It has happened to me on the expressway and the car will not accelerate past 20 miles per hour. I had the car repaired on October of last year (3 months ago) and the issue persists. I decided to research online and this seems to be a major issue going on with Buicks. It sounds like GM has done nothing to remedy the malfunction. Many people state that even the dealers can seem to fix the issues and have no clue as to why this happens. This is a serious and life threatening mechanical failure that needs to be addressed.

I get Reduced Engine Power and Service Stabilitrak messages. Engine Code P2138 is prevalent. The car will not accelerate, nor maintain highway speeds, forcing the driver to pull off the road and shut off the car. The warning message returns under normal driving conditions. This code points to several components [Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor, Throttle Body Assembly with Sensor, Manifold Absolute Position (MAP) Sensor, etc...] All of which I have replaced. It is rumored that General Motors knows that it is a problem and the true fix is to replace the wire(s) and seal or replace the connector. Refer to GM Technical Service Document 070604019F

Electronic Stability Control Systems (ESC) activates a couple times a week every other month for several years. Multiple Warning lights flash, needles on two dials rotate erratically resulting in sudden changes in vehicle handling and deceleration, and on wet roads which cause me difficulty in maintaining the vehicle's desired path of travel and desired vehicle speed, and could result in a crash without warning. I have a video. Its scary. Had it looked at twice and paid a lot but it keeps happening.

I was driving on the 99 freeway when my car turned completely off! I could have been killed!!!!! The check engine light came on and service stabilitrak was on the screen. Then it would not start. There was no warning at all. I got it fixed (so I thought by one mechanic) and it happened again. So I took it to the Buick dealer and they fixed it(so I thought) and it happened again. It is now at the Buick dealership and they told me it is the control module on the computer and quoted me 996 dollars!!!! I looked up online and found that other people have had the same problem with their 2010 Buick Lacrosse. Seems to be a manufacturers defect and needs to be reported and recalled.

While driving, the engine shuts down and restarts. At the same time, all four door locks unlock and lock. In most cases, the issue happens once and does not reappear for that trip. The worst can have it do this at least three times. Once, I did notice an alert message appears on my console that disappeared as soon as it happened. This instances appear not to be as bad, since I had the battery replaced (Shortly after this issue appeared, the battery went from being a "good" battery, to a dead one. Nevertheless, these issues do happen on a periodic basis.

MY BUICK LACROSSE WAS HANDLING JUST FINE UNTIL I PUT A HEAVY PIECE OF LUGGAGE INTO THE TRUNK. I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. A MESSAGE WAS ON MY DASHBOARD SAYING THERE WAS A POWER STEERING PROBLEM. I WAS AT THE AIRPORT, SO A TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS ON THE SCENE WITHIN MINUTES. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER JUMPED MY CAR. HE HANDED ME THE TRIM COVER THAT COVERS THE BATTERY. I'M NOT SURE IF HE TOOK IT OFF, OR WHETHER IT CAME OFF WHEN I PUT THE HEAVY SUITCASE IN THE TRUNK. I PUT THE TRIM COVER IN THE BACK OF MY CAR AND DROVE OFF. THE CAR THEN STALLED WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE TO BACK INTO THE DRIVEWAY. IT WOULDN'T START AGAIN, SO I JUMPED IT. IT WORKED AND I DROVE TO MY MECHANIC. MECHANIC SAID MY BATTERY WAS FINE. THEY CHECKED THE ERROR MESSAGES. THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG SO THEY SENT ME TO A DEALER. THE DEALER COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND SAID TO COME BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS THE CAR WOULD RANDOMLY NOT START OR STALL. SEVERAL DAYS COULD GO BY WITH IT WORKING JUST FINE. AT FIRST, WHEN IT STALLED IT WAS ONLY WHEN I HAD JUST STARTED THE CAR OR PUT IT IN REVERSE. BUT THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, AT THE TOP OF A LONG HILL, IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST DOWN A HALF MILE OR SO UNTIL I ARRIVED AT AN EMERGENCY PULL OFF ZONE. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT SO THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT BUT WORKABLE. AFTER PULLING OVER, I TRIED STARTING THE CAR AGAIN BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. I HAD A SELF JUMP START KIT, AND WAS ABLE TO JUMP THE CAR AGAIN. IT STARTED BACK UP AND SEEMED LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. BUT ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER IT STALLED AGAIN. FORTUNATELY, I WAS BY ANOTHER EMERGENCY PULL OFF. AT THIS POINT, I PUT THE TRIM COVER BACK ON THE BATTERY. AND THE CAR HAS WORKED FINE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS. THE CAR SHOULD NOT START AND THEN RANDOMLY STALL IF THE TRIM COVER IS OFF.

OVER THE TWO YEARS, WHILE DRIVING, THE SERVICE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT COMES ON; THE ABS & PARK ASSIST LIGHTS FLASH ON AND OFF; MY RPM, SPEEDOMETER, & TEMPERATURE GAUGES GO HAYWIRE; AND THE ENGINE LOSES POWER CAUSING THE CAR TO JERK. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN. I HAVE BEEN PUT IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING INCLUDING ON SIDE STREETS AND MAJOR HIGHWAYS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO COMES ON AND STAYS ON THROUGHOUT THE REST OF MY DRIVE. YOU CAN GO SOMETIMES WEEKS OR MONTHS INCIDENT FREE AND WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DAVE SINCLAIR BUICK / GM DEALER LOCATED IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS FOR THE SAME ISSUE YET TO NO AVAIL IT IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE DEALER'S TECH SAID MY CARS PROBLEM IS ALMOST CERTAINLY ELECTRICAL. SO FAR THEY HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE CODES FOR ECM (THEY REPLACED AT MY COST) & TCM LOST COMMUNICATION PCM MALFUNCTION & OTHER COMMUNICATION ISSUES (THEY REPROGRAMMED). THEY HAVE DRIVEN THE CAR AND HAVE DUPLICATED THE ISSUES BUT TO THIS POINT HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM BUT SAID THAT IT'S ELECTRICAL. I CONTACTED BUICK AND CHATTED WITH AN ADVISOR (A COPY WAS UPLOADED) WHO BASICALLY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY CAN DO. A QUICK SEARCH OF THE INTERNET WILL SHOW SEVERAL OTHER BUICK OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE AS I DESCRIBE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION & I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR SINCE I NEVER KNOW WHEN THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY LOSE POWER, THUS CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING ALL THE INSTRUMENT PANEL/DASH AND HEADLIGHT/DAYTIME DRIVING LIGHTS INTERMITTENTLY EITHER FLASH OFF AND ON OR SHUT OFF FOR SEVERAL SECONDS AND COME BACK ON. THIS PROBLEM HAS BUILT UP OVER TIME AND THE RADIO HAS ALSO STARTED TO ALSO INTERMITTENTLY TURN OFF AND ON CONJUNCTION WITH ALL THE LIGHTING. THIS SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN EVER THERE IS SOME KIND OF QUICK DRAW OF ELECTRICAL POWER, SUCH AS BRAKING, DOWNSHIFTING OF TRANSMISSION TO ACCELERATE, TURNING ON DEFROSTERS, OR SIMPLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS POWER LOSS ALSO AFFECTS THE CRUISE CONTROL AND WHEN POWER LOSS OCCURS IT WILL DISENGAGE. THIS DISTURBINGLY OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND POWER LOSS TO INSTRUMENT PANEL/DASH AND HEADLIGHT LEAVES ME IN COMPLETE DARKNESS FOR SEVERAL MOMENTS AT TIME. I HAVE NOT IDEA HOW FAST I'M GOING OF IF THE ROAD IS STILL IN FRONT OF ME. I NOTICE AN ISSUE WITH THE PREVIOUS BODY STYLE OF LACROSSE BUT NOT MINE. IF THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED FOR SEVERAL HOURS SOME THING OR SOME PROGRAM IS RESET AND THE ISSUE WILL STOP FOR ROUGHLY TWO WEEKS AND THEN START BACK UP, BUT SO FAR THE ISSUE SEEMS TO INTENSIFY UP RESTARTING AFTER THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED. THE DRIVETRAIN IS NOT AFFECTED BY THE POWER LOSS AND WILL CONTINUE TO OPERATE DURING THE ILLUMINATION AND INSTRUMENTATION LOSS. THE ISSUE DOES SEEM TO REPEAT MORE FREQUENTLY WHEN IN TOWN WITH THE CONSTANT ACCELERATION AND BRAKING. ON THE INTERSTATE THE ISSUE WILL OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY WHILE CRUISING AND WHEN ACCELERATING OR BRAKING AND IF SOME DEVICE IS ACTIVATED SUCH AS DEFROSTERS, TURN SIGNALS, OR AIR CONDITIONING. WITH THE INTERMITTENT AND SO FAR SHORT NATURE OF THE POWER LOSS, I'M NOT ABLE TO ASCERTAIN IF ANY OTHER SYSTEMS ARE BEING AFFECTED AS OF YET. THE PROBLEM RESEMBLES ALTERNATOR OR BATTERY FAILURE, BUT BOTH WERE REPLACED AT THE ONSET OVER A YEAR AGO. VIDEOS OF THE CLUSTER ARE AVAILABLE BUT TOO LARGE TO ATTACH.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2012-2013 Buick Regal, 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2010-2013 Buick Lacrosse vehicles sold or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. These vehicles may have rear toe links that received excessive electrocoating (e-coat) corrosion protection, which could cause the e-coat to become brittle and break away when contacted by road debris. Over time, the e-coat may chip away, exposing the metal toe link and making it more susceptible to corrosion. Corrosion may eventually cause the toe link to thin and ultimately to fracture.
Risk: A rear toe link fracture may reduce the driver's ability to control the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear suspension toe links and adjuster fasteners free of charge. Parts are not currently available. Owners were mailed an interim notification on January 27, 2021, and April 15, 2021. A third notification was mailed on August 19, 201. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N202308930.
