On three separate incidents my brakes have totally failed. I went to apply the brakes and the pedal went to the floor with no braking action at all. The most recent occurrence we were exiting a freeway and coming to a traffic signal. Our speed was approximately 45 MPH and upon applying the brakes they completely failed. The pedal went to the floor. Thankfully we were able to cross the intersection without a collision and slow down on an uphill on ramp..

Check engine light came in. Took into repair shop to change oil and diagnose issue. It was about 7,000 miles since previous oil change with full synthetic oil. Drained oil was full of metal shavings. Refilled oil and ran engine. Metal shavings was again observed in oil immediately. Mechanic stated vehicle needed a new engine. Noticed another complaint (#11674909) built around same time with exact same issue. Vehicle has ~160k miles with regular maintenace and only synthetic oil. There should not be engine damage at this point that would lead to a failure as this. Cost of repair is currently being worked up by repair shop but likely in $3-7k range.

I almost wrecked because I could not see through the windshield when the wipers failed. I was driving in the rain in rush hour traffic. The rain stopped. I turned off my wipers. I was on an onramp to the interstate at dusk. The rain started again. I tried to turn on the wipers but they would not turn on. After several attempts and moving the control arm to various positions, the wipers came back on and worked. The rain lightened again. I turned them off. When I attempted to turn the wipers back on when the rain started again they did not turn on, no matter which position the control arm was moved to. Luckily the rain stopped. I tried the wipers again once I was off the interstate and they worked. I passed by the dealership before going home but the service doors were down. I did not stop. I have not yet taken it to the dealership but intend to this weekend. This was a terrifying situation. I can't imagine if I had been in heavy traffic or needed to veer and this malfunctioned. It could have cost me my life. Please get this fixed.

My rear camera display malfunctions and the screen goes black. I took it on to Nissan for repair and the problem is still not resolved. I contacted Nissan on several times and reported the issue to see if my vehicle is on recall list but it’s not. I believe it should be. I also have issues with my driver window. It gets stuck especially in the winters. I took my vehicle to Nissan to resolve the issue, and they said it’s glue to how the doors were made. I purchase the vehicle brand new. I feel Nissan rushed the car on me to get a sale and didn’t double check to see if the vehicle had any flaws. I would like to report a recall on my vehicle. When I looked online I noticed the rear view camera has been recalled and I wonder why my vehicle is not on the recall list. Nissan has a record of my vehicle being brought in to repair it.

Cruise control does not always brake when coming close to object. ABS, traction control and collision warning lights will come on periodically causes cruse control to not operate at all. First time it happened was Dec of 2020, was told by dealer it was faulty sensor and was supposedly fixed yet warning lights continue to come on frequently and cruise control will not work until car if shut of and back on. Since 2020 I have reported is to Keating Nissan a few times but they say they lights have to be on when I bring it it. When car shut off lights go off and don’t always come back on right away. Car has tended to speed up on its own when cruise control is on when no need to speed up on flat straight road stretch. Last time light illuminated was Feb 1st, Jan 14 2023 although it has happened periodically since 2021 after first incident in 2020. Also warning sensor for coming close to objects in front of you when parking does not alert at all.

WheelsApr 2023 · ODI 11515321Details +

Nissan uses bi-metal lug nuts, as does a number of other manufacturers, including Jeep. For Nissan, these are a steel lug nut covered with a shiny metal, likely chrome. Over time, there apparently has been corrosion, either galvanic or because the thermal cycling the wheel experiences allow moisture to get between the two metals and rust occurs. The end result is the lug nut swells and the manufacturer provided lug wrench no longer fits, preventing the owner from changing a flat tire. While not a major saftety issue, it does increase the risk of an owner being injured as they attempt to force the lug wrench onto the lug nut. The owner is also at a slightly elevated risk as they repeatedly attempt to remove the tire on the side of the road, increasing the time exposed to traffic. Even roadside assistance likely does not have the specialty tool (21.5mm or 22.5mm socket) needed to remove the tire. These bimetal lug nuts should be banned.

Monday, January 30, at 7:25pm, I was driving my 2019 Nissan Pathfinder at 55mph and the sunroof exploded. The weather was clear, 60 degrees, no precipitation. There was a loud explosion then the sound of glass rained over the roof of the car. The interior shield was closed; therefore, glass did not enter the vehicle. We pulled over immediately to inspect the vehicle. The sunroof was identified as shattered with the glass shards in an upward position. We did not have cars around us. We were on an open road, no where near an overpass. There was nothing that could have fallen or hit the sunroof. Because the glass rained over the car and the glass was positioned upward, it is clear the sunroof exploded.

Is it noted anywhere that the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4x4 vehicle's brakes wear rather quickly, that whatever pin was missing is not secured properly and as well as the brake fluid dissapating? All of this is vital to proper safety. Although I like Pathfinders, I will not subject myself or my funds to an unsafe vehicle and the repairing brakes every 3 months. I was told and shown that my vehicle had new front and rear brakes when it was purchased. My rear brakes wore out in 3 months of owning the vehicle and the front ones are wearing in their 5th month. When I had the rear brakes repaired at Tire South, they explained that I was missing a vital pin, which is why it was making noise. There was also no brake fluid present. They said I had been very lucky while driving.

2019 Nissan Pathfinder SV 4x4 was purchased April 30, 2022- I've noticed that the hood moves, vibrates, flutters almost aggrssively while drivng on local streets and the hwy. It's as if the hood was made of paper or flimsy material and wants to fly off it's hinges. At times I'm fixated on it, although my attention should be on the road and watching for other drivers. The hood makes me nervous as if an accident is inevitible. I haven't taken it to be checked as of yet, but something needs to be done about this if others are experiencing this exact issue.

I have found out there is a recall for pathfinder 13-16 models about the hood latch, and that the hood might fly open at certain speeds. I have a 2019 pathfinder and since day 1 of the owner ship i ha e noticed that on a highway at high speed the hood is catching allot of air where the hood is literally flattering so to say. At one point i have mentioned it to my local nissa dealer which they checked and said the latch looks ok. It is still doing the same thing till this day. Now that i saw the recal for 2013-2016 models i wonder if newer models like mine are affected as well with that problem.

The ICC gives false crash warnings and automatically brakes your vehicle while driving at highway speeds, which is a dangerous situation. I believe it to be a bad Bosch Radar Sensor which is faulty. Other owners have told me of their same problem.

Back Over PreventionDec 2019 · 19V654000Details +

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2015-2018 Nissan Murano, 2016-2018 Nissan Maxima, and 2017-2019 Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and unrepaired, or inspected and determined to not need a repair, under recall number 18V-601. In addition, this recall expands the previous population. The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) actuator pumps may allow brake fluid to leak onto an internal circuit board.

Risk: A brake fluid leak on the circuit board may result in an electrical short, increasing the risk of a fire.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ABS actuator, free of charge. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available, currently expected to be during summer 2020. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: If the ABS warning light remains illuminated for more than 10 seconds after engine start up, owners are advised to park the vehicle outdoors away from other vehicles or structures and to not drive the vehicle.
