We first received notice of the recall on December 18, 2024. The front right suspension knuckle joint was making a clicking noise for several weeks and has now cracked and detached the suspension arm on the front right wheel. Thus making my car completely unsafe to drive. The manufacturer gave me an unclear answers for an extended period of time. They have now confirmed that the part is on back order and unavailable to order and they don’t know when it will be available to order. At this point, I don’t feel safe driving my car. I need the manufacturer, Land Rover, to either buy back my vehicle or to give me a rental or loaner car for the foreseeable future, until they are able to repair my car or replace my car altogether. I live in Woodland Hills, CA and there are two dealerships in close proximity which are available to provide a solution for me. I am a mother and I have three small children. This is our family’s primary car for daily transportation for my children to and from school and all activities. It is imperative that this is addressed immediately.

Front wheel knuckle failure. I received an email last year on a recall for specific VINs for this failure and my VIN does not apply within the specific years of 2014-2016. Land Rover has been made aware through several complaints that there is a widespread issue with their vehicles that requires recall. Thousands of customers have reported issues in their vehicles with cylinder 4 cracked pistons resulting in engine failure. Land Rover refuses to address the issue in their vehicles causing this malfunction and costly vehicle repair. Land Rover needs to issue a recall to address and rectify this issue in their vehicles as this issue results in the vehicle losing speed and coming to a complete halt with no warning from the vehicle. The vehicle does not display any warnings even if dangerously low on oil - no warning sign will display. This could result in death of multiple people and cause crashes. It is highly dangerous and needs to be addressed by Land Rover with urgency.

The front suspension knuckle has developed a significant crack at the top where a ball joint attaches. This crack will result in a catastrophic failure of the knuckle as has been experienced by many owners of this type of vehicle. (see [XXX] ). This has resulted in serious accidents even at low speed. I found this issue on my vehicle during a routine check before a road trip. the crack is such that this will fail at any moment. I am entering this case BEFORE i have a serious accident, and will have to get the vehicle repaired at my cost given that the manufacturer will not recognize this issue. The side/front airbags wire harness system are in and under the driver/or passenger seat and become disconnected when you move the seats, therefore making it so the side and front airbags won’t work. This is said to be a known issue says the dealership but not covered under any circumstances even though they detailed my car after having for two months trying to fix my brakes with no airbag issues and now I have this airbag light on and issue with my airbags. But it’s also a known safety issue flaw I was told by the manager at the mission viejo ca dealership ! Unacceptable!

The contact’s husband owned a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated while driving at 40 MPH in the rain, she moved into the slow lane as another vehicle was passing her vehicle, the vehicle started sliding back and forth, felt unstable, and was heading towards the median lane. The contact stated that as she extended her body and was moving her dog from the front passenger’s side seat onto the floorboard, the vehicle flipped a total of 8 times and landed upside down. The contact stated that an unknown door of the vehicle flew open in that process. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V387000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The air bags deployed. The contact was able to exit the vehicle. The emergency units arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the contact. The contact sought medical assistance and it was diagnosed that the contact’s gallbladder threw a stone that was blocking a bile duck. The contact underwent two emergency gallbladder surgeries. Additionally, the contact sustained neck and shoulder injuries that aggravated a preexisting condition. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it was totaled. A police report was filed. The contact notified the Porsche dealer where the vehicle was purchased but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. LAND ROVER CLAIMS THEY ALREADY UPDATED MY "SOFTWARE" BUT I THINK IT'S SOMETHING MUCH MORE DETAILED THAN THAT, AS THERE ARE LITERALLY 1000'S OF PEOPLE ASKING ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. THERE IS AN NHTSA ARTICLE FOR A RECALL ATTRIBUTED TO A FRONT SIDE AIRBAG WHICH AFFECTED VEHICLES BUILT FROM MAY 9, 2012 THROUGH MARCH 15, 2013. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO ALL 2013-2014 MODEL YEAR RANGE ROVERS. WHEN MY AIRBAG LIGHT TURNED ON, I WAS IMMEDIATELY CONCERNED AND RUSHED TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE ISSUE INSPECTED. UPON DEALER INVESTIGATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF. OFTEN THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON. OTHER TIMES, THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME AND THEN TURN OFF AND FINALLY AT ODD TIMES IT WILL REMAIN OFF. I WAS INFORMED BY A DEALER THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 2013-14 MODEL YEAR RANGE ROVERS HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER HAS LIMITED THE ORIGINAL RECALL TO 3,912. THESE ITEMS MADE CONTACT WITH THE BUTTONS ON THE RIGHT SIDE WALL OF THE TRUNK THAT CONTROL THE INCLINE/DECLINE OF THE REAR SEATS. THE BUTTON WAS ACTIVATED AND THE SEAT MY DAUGHTER WAS SEATED IN STARTED TO DECLINE. SHE WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO RESIST THE DECLINE AND THE SEAT FORCED HER TO NEAR HORIZONTAL BEFORE WE WERE ABLE TO REVERSE THE SWITCH. SHE ESCAPED INJURY, BUT IT SEEMS LIKELY THAT AN INJURY COULD HAVE RESULTED FROM THIS HAD THE SEAT DECLINED FURTHER. THESE BUTTONS NEED TO BE PROTECTED IN SOME FASHION TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL ENGAGEMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO START DUE TO NO RETURN OF ANY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE SYSTEMS ELECTRONICS INCLUDING EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS. I WAITED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES BEFORE TRYING TO START THE VEHICLE, WHICH TOOK A FEW TRIES BEFORE POWER AND VEHICLE ENGINE ENGAGED ONLY TO HAVE THE SAME COMPLETE VEHICLE FAILURE AND SHUT DOWN REPEATED ONLY AFTER 200 YARDS FROM THE INITIAL FAILURE RESULTING IN TOW SERVICE HAVING TO BE CALLED OUT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST NOR THE SECOND RECURRENCE, IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSE AND CORRECTED BY AN AUTHORIZED LAND ROVER DEALER. I PURCHASED MY NEW VEH IN MAY OF 2014. FROM THAT TIME UNTIL NOVEMBER, MY VEH DROVE/SHIFTED SMOOTH. I TOOK MY VEH IN FOR ITS 1ST SERVICE ON NOV. 25TH, 2014 AND AT THAT TIME THEY PERFORMED A TCM SOFTWARE UPDATE. SINCE LEAVING WITH MY VEH, I NOTICED IT DROVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. IT SHIFTED HARD, CLUNKED INTO GEAR & NO LONGER DRIVES LIKE A PREMIUM, NEW VEHICLE. I ADVISED MY SERVICE ADVISOR [XXX] A FEW DAYS LATER. AT THAT TIME HE SCHEDULED AN APT TO BRING IN & CHECK IT OUT. I ARRIVED FOR MY APT ON DEC 16TH, HAD THE SERVICE ADVISOR DRIVE WITH ME SO I COULD SHOW HIM WHAT I WAS EXPERIENCING. THE NEXT DAY I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL THAT MY VEH WAS "READY TO BE PICKED UP". I ASKED "DOES THAT MEAN IT IS FIXED?" HE REPLIED, "AT THIS TIME, WE & LAND ROVER ARE AWARE OF YOUR CONCERN, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THERE IS NO REMEDY/FIX AT THIS TIME." THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THERE WAS A KNOWN FIX/REPAIR. I PICKED MY VEH UP, & SINCE THEN, IT DRIVES EVEN WORSE. I EXPLAINED TO THE SERVICE DEPT THAT EVEN THOUGH THEY SAY IT IS "SAFE TO DRIVE", THAT I DO NO FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT. IN THE MORNINGS, THE SHIFTS ARE SO VIOLENT THAT I FEEL LIKE I AM DOING FURTHER DAMAGE TO MY DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO LAND ROVER NORTH AMERICA (REP:[XXX]: 800.452.4827 EXT. [XXX]0) SEVERAL TIMES, HE STATES THE SAME THING, "LAND ROVER IS AWARE OF THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, BUT THERE IS NO KNOWN FIX AT THIS TIME". IN MY OPINION, THIS VEHICLE IS CLASSIFIED AS A "LEMON" BECAUSE I CANNOT OPERATE IT WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR & FEEL SAFE, & THE DEALERSHIP/CAR MANUFACTURER DOES NOT HAVE A REMEDY/FIX NOR CAN THEY TELL ME WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. I WAS TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE GOING APPROX. 2 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE CAR ACCELERATED SO FAST THAT IT JUMP ONTO THE CURB AND HIT A TREE. LUCKILY, I DID NOT HIT A PERSON OR ANOTHER CAR. OUR 2014 RANGE ROVER SPORT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR DEACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY DURING MULTIPLE TRIPS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AFTER 7-12 MINUTES THE INDICATOR LIGHT NEAR THE SUNSHADE BUTTON WILL ILLUMINATE TO NOTE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED OR IS NOT OPERATIONAL; EVEN THOUGH THE PASSENGER IS SITTING CORRECTLY AND MAINTAINING CONSTANT WEIGHT ON THE SEAT. MOVING AROUND THE SEAT OR SHIFTING WEIGHT FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER WILL NOT EXTINGUISH THE INDICATOR LIGHT; HOWEVER BRIEFLY UNBUCKLING THE SEAT BELT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS MOVING AND THEN QUICKLY BUCKLING THE SEAT BELT WILL CAUSE THE INDICATOR LIGHT TO SHUT OFF FOR 7 TO 12 MINUTES. AFTER THIS UNBUCKLING AND BUCKLING PROCESS HAS BEEN COMPLETED THE LIGHT WILL COME ON AGAIN. THE LAND ROVER DEALERSHIP INSPECTED THIS VEHICLE AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS WITH THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSORS. LAND ROVER ALSO NEVER MENTIONED TO ME THAT THIS ISSUES HAS OCCURRED WITH OTHER RANGE ROVER VEHICLES. ON ANOTHER NOTE, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS SEVERELY UNDERILLUMINATED. VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE DURING THE DAY AND THERE IS NO OTHER VISUAL OR AUDIO QUEUE TO THE DRIVER THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG HAS BEEN DEACTIVATED. I WANTED TO INFORM YOU OF A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE WITH 2014 RANGE ROVERS THAT MAY EITHER CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR STRAND SOMEONE MANY MILES FROM CIVILIZATION! I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND THE ROTARY SHIFTER WOULD NOT POP UP AS IT WAS STUCK DOWN AND THE CAR WAS STUCK IN DRIVE! PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INDICATOR ACTIVATES AND DEACTIVATES INTERMITTENTLY DURING A SINGLE TRIP WITH A SINGLE PASSENGER. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER 45 MINUTES INTO A TRIP DRIVING A STEADY 75 MPH, THE INDICATOR LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE TO NOTE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOW DEACTIVATED AND WILL REMAIN THIS WAY FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE 4-HOUR TRIP. THIS OCCURS DESPITE THE FACT THAT PASSENGER IS SITTING AS SHE SHOULD, NOT MOVING ABOUT, AND WEIGHS 120 POUNDS. NO AMOUNT OF MOVING AROUND OR SITTING STILL CHANGES THE DEACTIVATION LIGHT. UNDOING THE SEAT BELT AND REFASTENING WILL OCCASIONALLY CAUSE THE LIGHT TO SHUT OFF FOR 10 OR 15 MINUTES, BUT IT COMES BACK ON AGAIN AND STAYS ON PERMANENTLY. ON SHORTER, LOCAL TRIPS THAT LAST AROUND A HALF HOUR AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE, MEANING THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO LAND ROVER CHICAGO TWICE, AND THEY REFUSE TO SERVICE OR ASSIST FURTHER. LAND ROVER CORPORATE ALSO CLAIMS OPERATION IS NORMAL. YET, NO ONE CAN EXPLAIN WHY THE AIRBAG PROTECTION IS INTERMITTENT, WHAT WEIGHT YOU MUST BE TO RECEIVE AIRBAG PROTECTION, OR WHAT IS CAUSING THE COMPUTER TO CHANGE ITS MIND 45 MINUTES INTO A TRIP. START/STOP FEATURE SHUTS THE ENGINE DOWN WHEN STOPPED. ENGINE RESTARTS UPON RELEASE OF BRAKE PEDAL. CAR LURCHES FORWARD AS ENGINE RESTARTS. THIS NEARLY RESULTED IN A PEDESTRIAN COLLISION. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport vehicles. The front suspension upper knuckle joint may crack, which can result in suspension arm detachment.

Risk: Suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the front suspension knuckles and install a retaining bracket or replace the knuckle, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. This recall expands and replaces previous NHTSA recall number 24V840.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Range Rover and 2014-2016 Range Rover Sport vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under Recall 19V-392, however the repair may not have been completed properly. Due to a problem with the Keyless Vehicle Latching System (KV Latch), the doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched.

Risk: Unlatched doors may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect for any issues with the KV system, disabling the KV mechanisms if necessary, and update the KV Latch software, free of charge. Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and 2013-2014 LR4 vehicles manufactured September 16, 2013, to June 30, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires subsequently lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure.

Risk: If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module (BCM) software, free of charge. The recall began on November 6, 2014. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P050.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Range Rover vehicles. In the affected vehicles, due to insufficient clearance, the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) connector located in the driver and front passenger side seat of the vehicle may become disconnected.

Risk: If the connector becomes disconnected, the driver and/or passenger seat side air bag may not function. In the event of a crash necessitating side air bag deployment, the seat occupant is at an increased risk of injury.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will modify the area around the connector to prevent it from becoming disconnected, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Customers may contact Land Rover at 1-800-637-6837, Option 9. Land Rover's number for this recall is P037.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured from May 7, 2013, to October 10, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the turn signal indicator may not flash at a double rate or click at a double-rate to give a notification to the driver of a front turn signal malfunction. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

Risk: Without a warning that a front turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, May 27, 2014. Land Rover's number for this recall is P042.

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Land Rover Range Rover vehicles manufactured August 16, 2012, to January 8, 2014, and 2014-2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured May 7, 2013, to February 12, 2015. In the affected vehicles, the brake vacuum hose may have been incorrectly routed allowing a hole to be worn ito it.

Risk: If a hole is worn into the brake vacuum hose, a complete loss of braking assistance could occur, lengthening the distance required to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake vacuum hose and correctly route it, as necessary, free of charge. Any brake vacuum hose that is damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began March 2, 2015. Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. In the affected vehicles, a light weight adult front seat passenger may be improperly classified by the occupant classification system (OCS) and, as a result, the front seat passenger air bag may be disabled.

Risk: If the front passenger air bag is disabled during a vehicle crash, there is an increased risk of injury.
