Reported this to the dealer in June 2025 a month after I bought the car. Dealer checked the car & couldn't find a problem causing this. Problem continues & is getting worse. I believe problem with CVT - vehicle jerks, hesitates and shudders in low speeds upon deceleration and acceleration. Not a smooth ride at all. After using the lane assist the steering wheel becomes sticky when I turn it off. Then if I turn it back on letting the lane assist correct my driving to turning it back off when turning around corners my steering wheel becomes really sticky. Then when driving the vehicle with lane asssist on the steering wheel will feel slightly different then I’ll turn it back off and it won’t stick around corners anymore (so then I can’t use my lane assist without my steering wheel getting sticky again) it really makes me worried. I don’t know if it’s connected but it makes me feel unsafe. When getting a hold of the dealership, they told me that I had to pay $150 to get a diagnostic because I didn’t have any active recalls. Which I think is a little crazy considering I keep reading about all these recalls about sticky steering wheels, but not specifically mine even though I’m experiencing the same thing they are. I’ve talked to somebody about three different times about recalls on this and they just keep saying that I don’t have a recall, but I’m telling them about what I’m experiencing is similar to people with active recalls, but they will still charge me a diagnostic fee that I can’t afford. And tells me I’m not in warranty. So my safety is at risk.. I have children in this car. I have pets in this car and I have family in this car…..

2025 Honda Civic Hatchback experiencing dangerous mechanical binding, sticking, and notching in the steering column. The defect is strictly thermal, escalating significantly in extreme Arizona heat and/ or after driving for a prolonged duration. This requires excessive driver effort to break the steering wheel free from center, risking over-correction and loss of vehicle control. Additionally, vehicle experiences intermittent powertrain jerking and hesitation during low-speed acceleration. Under active factory warranty, the vehicle was towed to a local Honda dealership. The Service Director initially pushed back significantly, attempting to dismiss the safety keywords and label a major steering defect as a vague 'multi-system failure' on the printed Repair Order. After consumer refusal to accept the vehicle, the Service Director capitulated, personally authorizing a Repair Order explicitly documenting in handwriting: 'Also Steering Sticky while CAR in motion. Also vehicle jerky at low Speeds.' The Service Director physically signed next to these terms. The Service Director explicitly acknowledged that the symptoms sound like the NHTSA recall 24V-744, but stated they must put up to 300 miles on the vehicle to 'replicate' the issue before replacing the steering rack due to fear of corporate financial chargebacks, actively attempting to force a consumer to keep an unsafe vehicle unless able to replicate.

During normal driving in rainy conditions, I experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of vehicle control involving steering behavior. At the time of the incident, the lane-keeping/driver-assist system was active, and I had both hands on the steering wheel while actively controlling the vehicle. Accident happened while driving on a two-way county road without center lane markings. The driver was leaning to the right of the road. The lane keep assisting overcorrected to the left hitting a culvert. Upon the crash the seat unlocked from its position and slid towards the steering wheel. The seat belt did not lock in time to prevent the seat from considerable forward movement. The airbag located inside steering wheel seemed only partially inflated. No other airbags deployed. The combined malfunctions resulted in the driver's left foot being crushed (various fractures and joints dislodged), and right ankle fracture and dislocation. The driver was the only one involved in the cash. However, other drivers could have been affected by the sudden change of lanes - especially if driving the opposite direction. The issue has not been reproduced as far as known (unable to find any reports, images or videos online). There was no inspection following the accident. The car had previously shown unexplainable lane keeping assistance overcorrections before, but there were no system failure warning lights. The seat sometimes needed readjustment (the locking system would click, but the seat would not remain in place). Summary of issues: -Lane keep assisting - overcorrected leading to hitting a culvert on the opposite side of the road. -Driver's seat unlocked forward toward the steering wheel when car hit the culvert. -Seatbelt did not lock appropriately to prevent seat moving forward toward the steering wheel. I am unsure if the car is still available for inspection. It was totaled by the insurance company. I was driving merging onto the freeway and my sunroof completely shattered, no car was in front of me so, nor was I driving under a bridge, it just completely shattered. Looking as if someone grabbed a hammer or punched it, I know a rock wouldn’t shatter it, maybe crack but no it shattered. The glass looks like it lifted too , not caved in , so almost as if there was too much pressure as well. Have seen similar cases , not sure if any have reported but yes I have seen similar issues occurring. Thankfully I had my headliner closed , so the glass fell on there I had to pull over and figure it out, I did not touch the glass at all, as I’m currently having my Honda Dealership look at it. This vehicle suffers from phantom braking. With the adaptive cruise control set, at times, in the display of the instrument cluster, the display shows a semi, motorcycle or car that is not there in real life. I was turning into a parking space in my 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid Touring, in a plaza area. As I depressed the brake, I felt some pressure, but then all of a sudden it went straight to the ground, which caused my car to go over a landscape median, and hit the tree in the middle of it, causing my car to hit a stationary vehicle on the other side to the right, which in-turn caused my car to flip on it's drivers side. All of the airbags deployed and my driver's window was broken. My arm was injured and scraped but not broken. As I was waiting for the EMTs while sitting there, I noticed a warning circle with Bright Red Bold Letters that said BRAKE in the middle. My only thought was to shut the car off immediately. The manufacturer and insurance have given me a runaround regarding having someone to investigate/inspect the brake system, no success so far. I have a few days left for the insurance to hold it, being that it's been deemed a total loss. The CHP report is still not out. Hopefully the insurance will give me an extension for the hold. I had reported this by phone to NHTSA on 2/13/2026 and they did give me a claim number, but I don't see anywhere where I can add the claim number.

I’ve been having some strange steering issues with my car. It feels like I’m driving something with a bent frame, especially when I go over 40 mph. The front driver’s side wheel pulls to one side, and sometimes it feels like the rug is being pulled out from under me. It really freaks me out. I haven’t been able to get a clear answer from any dealers yet, even after taking it to two different places, and they’re still checking it out. The electric power steering is malfunctioning. At highway speeds, steering becomes sticky. It is difficult to make small adjustments (such as to stay within the lane), leading to overcorrections to compensate. I worry that the stickiness and associated overcompensation may lead cause a crash if it persists. I am filing a formal safety-related complaint regarding my 2025 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid and the performance of its driver assistance systems. The earlier radar+camera system performed significantly better, maintained the lane more accurately, and provided smoother, more predictable behavior. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to another dealer, Headquarters Honda in Clermont Florida, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission was jerking, and there was no fix for the failure. The contact stated that the Attorney General had opened a Lemon Law case. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

While driving on the highway, I attempted to accelerate to safely merge into an adjacent lane when the accelerator pedal became stuck in the fully depressed position. The vehicle continued accelerating and the pedal would not release. I applied the brakes and exited the highway at the nearest exit, brought the vehicle to a complete stop, placed it in park, and turned the engine off. After restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal remained stuck. I had to manually pry the pedal up from the floor. There were no loose objects or aftermarket floor mats present—only properly installed Honda factory floor mats. This appeared to be a mechanical failure and presented a serious safety risk.

Vehicle experienced sudden and complete loss of engine power while driving in active NYC traffic. Without any warning lights or prior symptoms, the engine shut off mid-motion, the accelerator became unresponsive, and the car stopped moving in the middle of a busy roadway. I lost all propulsion and had to activate hazard lights while stuck in live traffic. This created a severe safety hazard for me and surrounding vehicles. The vehicle could not be safely moved, and no police or roadside support was able to reach me for over an hour. This incident placed me at high risk of being struck by oncoming traffic. This is the second major failure with this vehicle. On Day 2 of my lease, the car experienced multiple system malfunctions related to an open recall, causing the vehicle to fail on the highway. That recall repair did not prevent this new failure. After this most recent incident, AAA diagnostics showed the vehicle was not drivable, and the dealership later informed me that the failure involves a deeper fuel system/high-pressure pump issue. They stated there is no guarantee the vehicle will operate normally even after repair, yet on 12/10/25 they attempted to return the car to me and told me to continue driving it despite knowing the defect is safety-related. As of today, I have been without a safe vehicle for over 10 days, and neither the dealership nor Honda Corporate has provided a loaner or safe transportation. My initial safety case with Honda was also prematurely closed without my knowledge, and multiple attempts to escalate to a supervisor were unsuccessful or delayed. A vehicle that stalls without warning at speed is an extreme safety hazard, and this defect remains unresolved. I am reporting this because the vehicle has failed twice under dangerous conditions, and the manufacturer has not ensured that the vehicle is safe to operate.

On November 8, 2025,at approximately 9:00 a.m. , I was driving on the freeway at approximately 60 to 65 mph. All of a sudden the steering wheel stiffened and locked up and car pulled to right, at same time the engine malfunction light flashed on. This lasted for a moment then steering felt normal and engine malfunction light went off. Car steered normal after that and I exited the freeway to my destination. At around 11:30a.m. I got back on the freeway and after a few minutes my steering wheel stiffened again and locked momentarily and car veered to the right at approximately 60 to 65 mph. The engine malfunction light flashed again and then the steering returned to normal and the engine malfunction light went off. My vehicle is available for inspection. My safety was at risk because when the steering got stiff and locked up momentarily I did not have control of the car. I was traveling at 60-65 mph on the freeway and cars were next to me in the other lanes. Since for this moment I did not have control of the car I could have veered into other vehicles putting others at risk. On December 2,2025 I had car checked by Hollywood Honda (dealer). They checked car and found no history of any error codes. They also test drove the car on the freeway and did not encounter any problems. They indicated the car had no problems they could detect. The car has not been inspected by anyone else. There were no warning lamps,messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to failure . The warning light only came on at time of failure. Since November 8, I have not taken the car on the freeway because I feel it is unsafe. I only use the car on surface streets for now and have not encountered any problems so far.

On November 5, 2025 a few dash errors came on, they were: 1. Brake hold system problem 2. Vehicle stability assist problem 3. Emission system problem 4. Road departure mitigation system problem 5. Collision mitigation system problem 6. Lane keeping assist system problem 7. Adaptive cruise system problem 8. Hill start assist system problem 9. Tire pressure monitor system problem I called the dealership on 11/5/25 and made a service appointment for 11/6/25. The dealership looked over the car and stated that the code the car was throwing was "Low Fuel Pressure". The dealership stated that they do not know why the code was present as the car showed signs of issues, they cleared the code and released the car back to me on 11/6/25. On 11/24/25 while driving on a major highway the car stalled about 8-10 times. I contacted the dealership and went right into the dealer on 11/24/25. The dealership kept my car and issued a loaner vehicle to me. On 11/25/25 I received a call from the dealership stating that the high pressure fuel pump would need to be replaced. The fuel pump was replaced on 11/26/25 and the service manager called me stating that they would keep the car to test drive and monitor it for further issues. On 11/28/25 I received a call from the service advisor stating that upon further checking the car they have located a transmission leak and found large chunks of metal in the transmission. The service advisor stated they would reach out to Honda and get the recommendations on fixing the problem. On 12/1/25 the service advisor reached out to me and stated that Honda recommended they clean the leak and release the car back to me. The service advisor stated that they were not happy with this outcome and then reached out to their district representative, the district representative recommended that they clean the leak, test drive the car for about 20-30 miles and send photos of the chunks of metal in the transmission. I am now waiting to hear back.

The message " Brake" was displayed. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle did not have sufficient time to stop and crashed into a truck. The front end of the vehicle went underneath the high bumper truck. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The air bags did not deploy. While driving on Rt.119 through Uniontown PA, I was going 60-65 mph on a four lane road passing a cat on the right. I was about 3/4 of the way passing the car when three emergency braking kicked in and applied full braking. The road was straight, there was no vehicle or other obstruction in the road. This happened at approximately 3:30 P.M on 11/14/2025 with overcast sky and dry conditions. This caused the full sized tractor trailer behind me to lock up his brakes to attempt to not hit me. The only thing I can think of that kept me from getting hit, was I was able to hit the gas pedal.

Continental ProContact RX 235/40 R18 91W DOT 1A3 OFBK7W 25 Honda Civic Touring Hybrid 4 mths old, 2300 miles brand new car On Sun Oct 19 approx 11:30am traveling on I95 N at SC/NC border this Conti tire mounted on LR blew out suddenly causing the 25 Honda to fishtail on the hwy. I gained control of vehicle and safely pulled to the side of I95. Honda Roadside refused to tow the vehicle because local Honda dealers were closed on Sunday. I called AAA and towed to car to local Walmart in Dillon SC who mounted a different brand but correct size tire. I completed my tiip to Arlington VA. The Walmart service manager showed me the tire where the inside sidewall had completely detached from the main tire tread but was in one piece separated from but but still on the rim. Based on this incident these tires are UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE RECALLED ---HONDA SHOULD BE SANCTIONED FOR ALLOWING THEM TO BE INSTALLED ON THEIR NEW CARS

Vehicle: 2025 Honda Civic Touring Hybrid - Continental ProContact tires On Sun Oct 19 11:30am while driving N on I95 at SC/NC border at hwy speeds in heavy traffic the LR tire/rim exploded causing the car to spin out and nearly cause a serious accident. I was able to bring the car under control and pull to the side of the road. The car was nearly new 4 mths old w/2300 miles. The tires/rims were in new condition. Honda roadside service refused to tow the car under their roadside policy. I called Triple A and paid out of pocket to have the car towed to Walmart who installed an off brand tire of the same size that I was able to continue to Virginia. While examining the tire/rim at Walmart service they showed me how the complete inside sidewall of the tire completly separated in 1 piece from the rest of the tire/rim. THESE CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TIRES ARE A DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD AND HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE VEHICLES AND REPLACE THEM WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND, PREFERABLY MICHELIN. I've contacted Honda USA customer relations and so far they have refused to take any action or cover my tow & temp tire replacement cost nor accept responsibility to replace the dangerous Continental tires. I currently have the bad tire in my possession for Honda/NHTSA inspection.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Acura Integra, Civic Type R, CR-V Hybrid, CR-V, HR-V, 2022-2025 Civic, Civic Hatchback, 2024-2025 Acura Integra Type S, 2025 CR-V Fuel Cell EV, Civic Hybrid, and Civic Hatchback Hybrid vehicles. The steering gearbox assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly, which can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.

Risk: Difficulty steering can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed November 18, 2024. Owners may contact Honda Customer Service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.
