Vehicle Shipped in Unsafe Driving Condition I purchased this vehicle from Cars2us with a clear understanding that the vehicle was in good working order. I paid $500 for shipping along with $3,000 cash down. I purchased it from out of state so I had to have the vehicle shipped to my work site. When I received the vehicle off the trailer, it was borderline underivable due to the rack and pinion and power steering system being faulty. I immediately contacted the dealer and he agreed to have it repaired and advised me to “take it to a mechanic you trust”! I did so and the mechanic called me to inform me that the manager of the dealership tried to convince him to put junkyard parts on the vehicle to fix it. The mechanic was infuriated and insulted by this and advised me to contact an attorney. I paid the full amount for the repairs totaling over $2,000 because he did a job he was asked to do and rightly deserved to be paid for doing so. The mechanic and I tried multiple times to contact him for repayment and he has not paid nor responded. I have all of our conversations and will happily attach them to this email. I’m furious because the vehicle was knowingly shipped to me in an extremely dangerous condition and I was forced to drive it to my house 13 miles away as well as the mechanic shop another 6 miles. I emailed the Attorney General of Virginia and reported the incident. It’s my goal to protect other customers from experiencing this kind of behavior and treatment. If you could please help me out in any way it would be greatly appreciated. Best Regards.

I was in an accident with a friend in [XXX] We weren't doing over 30 to 35 miles per hour when we hit a deer. All I could remember was yelling because my wrist was broken and I had bone coming out from the air bags that deployed on my side of the car. The wind shield was cracked because of this as well. My friend had to jump out of the car to disconnect the battery because the car would not shut off or stop moving. The brake and parking brake was used but couldn't get it to stop. My friend had to crawl out the side window by them to let me out of the car because neither door opened to let us out. My friend was hurt as well but not as bad as my wrist. The er doctor told me since my wrist never healed or would ever heal correctly. That iwould have to go see a hand specialist to do surgery and put pins in but wasn't a guarantee fix. Till this day I have trouble working if it requires me to pick up heavy things with that hand because I just feel the pain and how it feels like it wants to come apart. This happened in bandera Texas on [XXX]. I did make a police report and even claimed it on my insurance. I was told the car was totaled due to cost of the air bags being deployed. I have not reported to anyone because people don't think it is a safety issue. So I'm still have debit from this incident that I don't want anyone to have to go through what I have since that day. I was seen at beorne Methodist er in beorne texas. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The engine timing is wrong. The camshaft and the reluctor misalign and cause the engine to loose performance. The problem was diagnosed by a Chevrolet dealership because of the illuminated "check engine" light. This seems to be a major historical issue with these type engines produced by Chevrolet. My 2010 camaro has the 3.6 v6 engine in it. I had no warning lights or issues with the car. I got in my car and started to drive on a highway the engine exploded on me and I swerved out of control luckily being able to stop the car on the right side of the road. I had the car towed to my house where it sat for months unable to be driven. I have been doing more and more research trying to figure out why it blew up. Me and my passenger could have died that day with how badly the force of the engine through the car out of control. And the chunks of steel that flew from under my car almost killed 2 kids in a car behind me. And upon talking to an associate who is a gm certified mechanic but he doesn't work for a dealership his diagnosis was the timing chain went bad prematurely and snapped and set off a chain reaction making the motor explode. During my time researching I have discovered this issue is already known by general motors for this engine having premature timing chain wear down. I have pictures of other 2010 camaro owners complaints of this issue. I also am aware gm has faced several class action law suits due to this issue. They put a recall out on the engine but specific vin numbers. So when I called gm customer service asking why I can't get my car repaired and my engine replaced they told me it was due to not being a vin number they included in the recalls even though they are aware it is the same engine. The recall should be for all vin numbers for this engine. My safety as well as others safety was put at risk for a known defect. This issue could happen to anyone with this engine and people could be killed due to it and those that survive the situation when it arises get left without a working vehicle. Now my car sits in my driveway without an engine. There should be a mass recall for all the engines. The headlight assembly has a reflective plate and has a manufactures defect that is a safety hazard. The reflective plate becomes yellow due to the heat of the HID light bulbs and causes the low beam lights to become dim and not put out the required output for safety and visibility. This part can not be replaced individually and the whole headlight assembly has to be replaced at a cost of $1200 per each side. Changing out the HID bulb with a comparable one does not increase the visibility either. I’ve taken my car to the dealership and have it on record what is wrong with it and that there is no other reason for the dim headlight other than that one defective piece. The visibility is awful.

January 2023.. Structural Crack in the air bag dash location/passenger side...Looking at it more closely the crack continues in a perfect oval pattern. As of yet the car component in question has not been inspect by a dealer or others. When sitting back in the front passenger seat i can see that the dash is humped up in just that area..the oval area. This oval area is just above the word air bag on the face of the dash. My concern is that if this is the airbag it could deploy and injury myself and others and cause a serious accident. the car has approximately 74,000 miles on it

My name is Kenneth Brown 'Kenny', and I purchased my 2010 Chevy Camaro 1LT 3.6L V6 from Ron Tonkin Chevrolet here in Portland, Oregon right off of their lot brand new. Now on the the bigger issue that has never been addressed to this day...the faulty 3.6L V6 motor. If you were to look at the wrecking yards across the country, you will find many 2010 & some early 2011 Camaro's with dead motors well before 75k miles, because my motor went out at 69K miles in 2017. McLaughlin Chevrolet the Dealership that replaced my motor stated that "They don't replace motors with only 69k miles on them", but they did, and that wouldn't be the last motor replacement they would do on the same car! Two weeks before the warranty expired on the replacement motor in September 2020 with 102,233 miles, McLaughlin Chevrolet replaced the GM vendor replacement motor with what is currently in my car. So is it normal to have had (3) OEM GM motors in one car with just 102k miles? There is a more serious/dangerous underlining issue here that GM, or anyone will acknowledge, and that is, just before the two previous motors went out, there was this engine warning light that has popped up each time, and that was the "Engine Power is Reduced". And where the safety concern lies is when this engine warning light comes on, it reduces your engine power almost down to a complete stop. How wonderful it is when your in heave traffic doing 45mph to 50mph and you loose engine power in heavy traffic! Now GM has attributed the engine warning light to a Timing belt issue, and this has been an issue since 2010. When this warning light comes on, not only is the engine power reduced, the bigger issue is that the power steering is reduced drastically. If you are not a seasoned driver that has driven a vehicle that has no power steering in it, then it becomes a serious issue...RIGHT, especially when your in heave traffic doing 45 to 50mph, because it put me right into the retaining cement barrier on the highway

My 2010 Chevy Camaro has a check engine light for a code P0008 which is an engine preformace bank 1 code. It is affecting my acceleration. I have noticed with other General Motors vehicles that have the 3.6L V6 have thrown this code for a timing chain issue around 100,000 miles and I belive other makes and models have been recalled for this issue and was concerned that it could be unsafe. I also wanted to know why this has not already been recalled on this make and model but has on others. If you could look in to this that would be great. Thank you

GM REPORTS THAT SOME TIRES HAVE TOO MUCH STEEL IN THE BELTS CAUSING THE SIGNALS TO BE BLOCKED OR BE INTERMITTENT WHICH CAN CAUSE DRIVERS TO DRIVE ON UNDER INFLATED TIRES. FAILURE OCCURS IN ANY TYPE OF DRIVING. GM NEEDS TO REPLACE THE SENSORS WITH ONES THAT PROVIDE A STRONGER SIGNAL TO COMPLY WITH THE TREAD ACT.

WATER SHORTED THE APP CIRCUITS AND CAUSED THE THROTTLE TO ACTIVATE WITH OUT DRIVER INPUT. WATER IS A POTENTIAL CAUSE FOR SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH POTENTIOMETER TYPE APP SENSOR'S THROUGH EXTENSIVE RESEARCH BETWEEN AUGUST 2019 AND SEPTEMBER 2020, I HAVE DETERMINED THAT A WATER INTRUSION PROBLEM INTO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (IP) TO BODY HARNESS CONNECTOR, WHICH CARRIES THE APP SENSOR SIGNALS TO THE ECM/PCM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN MANY OF THE 2005-2018 GM PRODUCT LINE. WATER CAN ENTER THE CONNECTOR THROUGH BODY LEAKS AND MAY CAUSE AN INCREASE IN VOLTAGE ON APP 1 AND APP 2. ON SOME VEHICLES THIS CAN ALSO CAUSE A MALFUNCTION IN THE BPP/BRAKE SWITCH STATUS CIRCUIT. AS A RESULT THIS MALFUNCTION CAN MISTAKENLY APPEAR AS A PEDAL MISAPPLICATION IN THE EDR REPORT FROM THE SDM. THIS FINDING APPLIES TO MANY OTHER VEHICLE USING A POTENTIOMETER TYPE APP SENSOR BUT THE RESEARCH WAS DONE SPECIFICALLY ON GM VEHICLES. I HAVE ALSO DETERMINED WATER INTRUSION INTO THE CONNECTOR 109 ON THE FULL SIZE TRUCK LINE HAS THE POSSIBILITY TO CAUSE FALSE ACTIVATION OF THE APP CIRCUIT. USING WATER I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT WATER CAN CAUSE THE VOLTAGE INCREASE ON APP CIRCUIT 1 AND APP CIRCUIT 2 AND NOT ENTER REDUCED POWER MODE, IT ALL COMES DOWN TO SURFACE AREA EXPOSED AND SODIUM CONTENT IN THE WATER AS TO THE FINAL RESULTS. AS THESE VEHICLES BECOME OLDER THE LIKELY HOOD OF THESE EVENTS OCCURRING INCREASES. VEHICLES NEAR SALT WATER OR WHERE SALT IS USED ON THE ROADS ARE MORE LIKELY TO FAIL WITH HIGHER APP %. BECAUSE OF THE KNOWN WATER LEAK INTO THE CONNECTOR'S CONTAINING APP WIRES AND VERIFICATION THAT WATER CAN CAUSE FALSE ACTIVATION OF THE APP CIRCUITS. IT IS MY CONCLUSION IN RARE EVENTS THIS WATER COULD CAUSE FALSE ACTIVATION OF BOTH APP SIGNAL IN MANY OF THE 2005-2018 GM VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE WAS USED FOR CONFIRMATION.

THE HID HEADLAMPS ON THE 2010 CAMARO SS ARE NOT PROVIDING ENOUGH LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE THE ROAD WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE HEADLIGHTS OVER THE LAST YEAR HAVE BECOME UNACCEPTABLY DIM. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF 2010 CAMARO SS THAT REPORT THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MANY POINTING TO THE PROBLEM BEING THE HID SYSTEM REFLECTOR HOUSING GETTING DAMAGED BY THE HEAT FROM THE BULB CAUSING INSUFFICIENT LEVEL OF LIGHT BEING REFLECTED OUT IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. WITH THE SEVERELY DIMINISHED VISIBILITY FROM THE HEADLIGHTS A DRIVER CANNOT SEE FURTHER THAN 30 FEET OR SO IN FRONT OF THE CAR AT NIGHT. VISIBILITY IS MUCH WORSE IF RAIN PRESENT AT NIGHT. I'M FORCED TO USE MY CAR AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY INCLUDING NIGHT AND I HAVE BEEN VERY CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY, MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN FATALITIES REPORTED RELATED TO THIS ISSUE YET BUT IT S A MATTER OF TIME AND WE SHOULDN'T WAIT UNTIL THERE ARE FATALITIES OR INJURIES BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED AND A RECALL IS ISSUED BY CHEVY. THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THE PROBLEM AND THERE ARE OTHER UNSUSPECTING OWNERS THAT CONTINUE TO DRIVE THEIR CARS EACH DAY WITH THIS SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. THANK YOU

THE 2010 CAMARO WITH THE 3.6L LLT MODEL ENGINE HAS PREMATURE TIMING CHAIN ISSUES. THESE CHAINS ARE STRETCHING OUT AND CAUSING PERFORMANCE ISSUES AND CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE. MY VEHICLE GAVE ME A DECREASED ENGINE POWER WARNING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND DECREASED MY SPEED DRAMATICALLY. I HAD TO FLOOR THE GAS PEDDLE TO KEEP IT ABOVE 40 MPH IN A 65 MPH SPEED LIMIT. IT WAS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAD THE ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A WORN TIMING CHAIN AND THAT 2 CAMSHAFTS WERE NOW OUT OF ALIGNMENT. GM HAS RECALLED ALMOST ALL OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE AND TIMING CHAIN FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE ALSO DISCONTINUED USE OFF THE CHAIN ITSELF AND SELL A DIFFERENT MODEL FOR REPLACEMENT. BUT THEY REFUSE TO RECALL THE 2010 CAMARO FOR THIS ISSUE SO THE ONLY OPTION IS TO REPLACE THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT WITH THE NEWER ONE OUT OF POCKET.

I HAVE THE 2010 CAMARO V6, WITH ONLY 67,700 MILES. LIKE TOO MANY OTHERS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT GAVE A P0008 ERROR CODE FOR PREMATURE TIMING CHAIN WEAR. WHY HASN'T GM ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE CAMARO WITH THIS ENGINE WHEN THEY'VE ISSUED A RECALL FOR NEARLY ALL OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS ENGINE?!? ON 2010 MODEL SS/RS WITH HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLAMPS (REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE T4F; I BELIEVE THE CODE IS), THE VISIBILITY OF THE HEADLAMPS IS SEVERELY DIMINISHED AFTER THE FIRST COUPLE OF YEARS DUE TO HEAT FROM THE REQUIRED ZENON BULB. HEAT FROM THE BULB, CAUSES THE PLASTIC REFLECTIVE DISH AT THE REAR OF THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY TO WARP AND CRACK THE MIRROR REFLECTIVE FINISH CAUSING DIMINISHED THROW (DISTANCE) FROM THE HEADLIGHTS. WITH THE SEVERELY DIMINISHED VISIBILITY FROM THE HEADLIGHTS, A DRIVER (ME) CANNOT SEE MUCH FURTHER THAN 30 FEET OR SO IN FRONT OF THE CAR AT NIGHT. IF RAIN IS PRESENT AT NIGHT, A DRIVER (ME) CANNOT SEE THE ROAD AT ALL EXCEPT FOR THE CENTER LINE STREET MARKINGS AND SOMETIMES THE ROAD SHOULDER OR CURB JUST NEAR THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. THIS MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT AND ESPECIALLY IN RAINING CONDITIONS. I HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS TWICE USING THE SAME MANUFACTURER BULBS BEFORE IDENTIFYING THIS DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING WITH NO CHANGE IN RESULT. THIS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR ALL 2010 AND UP MODELS WITH HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE HEADLAMPS WITH SEVERELY DIMINISHED VISIBILITY PUTTING DRIVERS AT HARMS RISK AND OTHER DRIVERS AROUND VEHICLES WITH THE SAME DEFECT. MAKING IT DIFFICULT IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE LINES IN THE ROAD ADEQUATELY, PEDESTRIANS, CONSTRUCTION MARKERS AND ROADWAY SHOULDERS AND CURBS AND COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENTS THAT COULD'VE BEEN PREVENTED. THERE HAS BEEN NO TSB OR RESPONSE FROM CHEVROLET THAT I COULD FIND REGARDING REMEDY TO THIS ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHED AND LOOKED AT. IT HAS TAKEN ME THIS LONG TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AFTER RESEARCHING WITH OTHER OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. WITH THE DIFFICULTY TO DIAGNOSE THAT THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THE PROBLEM, OTHER UNSUSPECTING OWNERS CONTINUE TO DRIVE THEIR CARS EACH DAY WITH THIS SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. ISSUE IS INSIDE THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY.

MY WIFE WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION IN HER 2010 CHEVY CAMARO. THIS VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A KEY FOB RECALL AND THE RECALL WAS NOT DONE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING N/B ON HY 99 THROUGHT ACAMPO CA AND APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH. IT WAS RAINING. THE CAR POSSIBLY HYDROPLANED IN THE RAIN BUT THEN SHE LOST ALL STEERING, BRAKES AND POWER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT THE CAR LEFT THE ROADWAY AND THERE WAS A SIGNIFICANT FRONT END IMPACT WHEN THE FRONT OF THE CAR HIT A DRAINAGE DITCH. THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A UNCONTROLLED SPIN AND CAME TO REST BACK IN THE #2 LANE OF N/B HY 99. THE ENGINE WAS NOT RUNNING WHEN THE CAR STOPPED. MY WIFE DID HAVE SEVERAL KEYS ON HER KEY RING. WE BELIEVE THAT SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE HAD THE FLAWED KEY FOB NOT SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. THERE WAS ALSO A SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH FRONT END IMPACT THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IF THE CAR WERE RUNNING WHEN THE COLLISION OCCURRED. THE CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I EXPLAINED THE KEY FOB ISSUE TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE CHP OFFICER WHO TOOK THE ORIGINAL REPORT. NEITHER RESEARCHED THIS AND THEY DID NOT BELIEVE THIS FLAW COULD HAVE BEEN THE PRIMARY FACTOR IN THIS COLLISION. MY WIFE'S INJURIES WERE MINOR. WE ARE AT A LOSS AND DO NOT KNOW HOW TO PROCEED. MOST ATTORNEYS WILL NOT TAKE THIS CASE BECAUSE THE INJURIES WERE MINOR. I TRUELY BELIEVE THIS CRASH WAS CAUSED BY THE FAULTY KEY FOB AND I DO NOT THINK THE INSURANCE OR THE CHP SHOULD HOLD MY WIFE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. I WILL ATTACH PHOTOS OF OUR CAR SHOWING THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT DIDN'T. I CAN GET COPIES OF THE POLICE REPORT AND THE LETTERS I SENT TO MY INSURANCE AND THE CHP. CHP'S RESPONSE WAS THAT EVEN THOUGH THE CAR SHUT OFF, IT COULDN'T HAVE CAUSED THIS COLLISION. LIKE I SAID THEY DID NOT LOOK INTO THIS. ANY HELP YOU CAN OFFER WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

GM IS RECALLING 1,243 MY 2010 CHEVROLET CAMARO EQUIPPED WITH A V8 ENGINE. THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MAY CONTACT THE STARTER MOTOR HOUSING AND CAUSE WEAR ON THE CABLE INSULATION. IF THE INSULATION WEARS THROUGH TO THE CABLE, IT COULD CREATE A SHORT.
Risk: A SHORT COULD RESULT IN A NO START CONDITION, CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO RESTART, OR RESULT IN AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL REROUTE THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE TO ENSURE ADEQUATE CLEARANCE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON MAY 6, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438 OR AT WWW.GMOWNERCENTER.COM.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling all 2010-2014 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles manufactured December 3, 2008 to May 23, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver may accidentally hit the ignition key with their knee, unintentionally knocking the key out of the run position, turning off the engine.
Risk: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position could cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will remove the key blade from the original flip key/RKE transmitter assemblies, and provide two new keys and two key rings per key. The recall began August 25, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14294. Note: Until the recall has been performed, it is very important that drivers adjust their seat and steering column to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain replacement flip-key ignition transmitter assemblies sold as replacement equipment for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles. GM dealers may have inadvertently sold these assemblies as replacement keys despite them having been recalled under NHTSA recall number 14V-346 (GM number 14294) when they were the original equipment assemblies. The driver may accidentally bump the ignition key with their knee, moving the ignition out of the run position and turning off the engine.
Risk: Once the engine is off, the vehicle can lose power steering and power braking, increasing the risk of a crash. The air bags may not deploy in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, replace the key with the flat blade design, free of charge. Interim notices informing owners of the safety risk were mailed November 6, 2019. Owners received a second notice and the recall began February 4, 2020. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N192223230.
