At lower speeds, especially after coasting, my car will lag for a few seconds before jerking forward. Also today I was coasting going about 25 mph and tried to accelerate and I pushed the pedal down and it wasn’t doing anything for several seconds then decided to start speeding up. No warning lights have come on. This has been happening for a bit but today was the first time I was concerned for my safety as I was out on a major highway

The low beams make it impossible to see at night. I replaced the bulbs to high visibility LED and still nothing. It's so dim and bad I have to drive with high beams on. It's terrible that it's been like this for 4 years and still we have no recall on the headlights when they now there's a problem with the reflective material and/or condensation on the inside of the headlight.

Front headlights dim. Amount of light reflected/projected totally insufficient to drive safely at night. Amount of light reflected fails to illuminate area immediately in front of car. The amount of light actually approximates running lights. I replaced the headlight bulbs but did not solve or even affect the problem. Online research indicates it is not a bulb problem but the reflective coating around the bulb that has burned off on these parts. The fact there is no safety recall on a problem of generating sufficient light to illuminate the area in front of the car at night is shocking. A safety recall is necessary and way overdue.

For years I did not drive at night because I could not see the road well enough to feel secure driving after dark. Fast forward when my daughter asked me if my headlights were on, I realized it was the dim headlights on low beam that was the issue all these years and not my eyesight at night. I have a 2014 Cadillac SRX. Never received a safety notice or recall from GM nor the dealership. This has been proven to be a major GM problem they should be required to fix.

It has been an ongoing issue for years concerning the dimness of the headlights on this vehicle. Virtually impossible to drive at night , can’t even see the lane markings with lights on dim. The cause was determined to be leaky seals creating corrosion. I replaced the bulbs myself and it made no difference. No recall was ever granted in spite of multiple complaints and filings with the NATSA. The Cadillac dealer is aware of the problem but has no authority to replace. I have had to let my relatives know of this issue in the event I were to be involved in a nighttime incident.

Complaint: 2014 Cadillac SRX Dim Headlights Subject: URGENT SAFETY HAZARD AND DEFECT: Severely Dim Headlights on 2014 Cadillac SRX (Affecting 2010-2016 Model Years) – Failure to Act Despite Class Action and NHTSA Complaints Vehicle Information: * Year: 2014 * Make: Cadillac * Model: SRX * VIN [XXX] 4 * Owner/Complainant [XXX] r * Contact [XXX] [XXX] m 1. The Defect and Safety Hazard The headlights on my 2014 Cadillac SRX have become severely and progressively dim, constituting a major safety hazard for night driving. * Hazard: The lack of adequate light output dramatically reduces visibility, compromises the driver's ability to see obstacles, and increases the risk of a severe accident during operation at night, dusk, or in poor weather. This is a critical failure of a core safety component. * Cause: The root cause is a well-documented design flaw in the headlight assembly (affecting 2010-2016 models) that allows moisture to enter the sealed unit. This moisture degrades the internal reflective coating, permanently destroying the light's effective output. 2. Failure to Act Despite Known Issues General Motors (GM) and the appropriate safety regulators have been aware of this critical defect for years, yet no mandatory safety recall has been issued: * NHTSA Complaint History: According to public records, complaints regarding this exact issue have been "pouring in" for the last five years or more. The high volume of complaints clearly demonstrates a systemic, widespread, and dangerous failure across this vehicle platform. * Class Action Lawsuits: This defect has been the subject of class action litigation against General Motors, further establishing that the company is fully aware of the design flaw and the resulting safety hazard. 3. The Unacceptable Repair Burden I am being forced to bear the cost of replacing the defective assembly with a new part that utilizes the same fundamentally flawed design. The first 6 months, I was unable to close the sunroof, because of that my passenger seat cracked since its been exposed to the sun for 5 years, the driver's side window could not roll down which we fixed; I never owned a vehicle where I could not access my trunk. The first 6 months of having this vehicle the lifgate became inoperable. the lift gate does not work. The sensors of the vehicle are useless, the car radioi does not work the cue sticks, which can be distracting and can cause an accident so I use the YouTube on my phone for entertainment. The sensors led to the transmission deteriorating to the point of the transmission fluid burning faster and deteriorating the components of the transmission. Safety Defect Remedies on 2014 Cadillac SRX (VIN: [XXX] ) Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing as the owner of a 2014 Cadillac SRX, VIN [XXX] , to address two critical safety defects that I believe are the manufacturer's responsibility to remedy. Water Intrusion and Electrical Failure: My vehicle has a known defect where water from the sunroof consistently leaks into the trunk. This water repeatedly causes electrical damage to the component located under the spare tire. I have personally replaced this component on three separate occasions, only to have it fail again after rain. This recurring failure disables my rear windshield wiper, a crucial safety feature. Driving with my child in the car while unable to clear the rear window is the most unsafe I have ever felt. Dangerously Dim Headlights: The front headlights are dangerously dim and do not provide adequate illumination for safe night driving. This is a well-documented issue with this model and poses a clear and present danger to my family and others. I have already spent my own money attempting to fix a problem that is a design flaw. I have no desire to pay for any further remedies for these issues. As the manufacturer, General Motors is responsible for the safety of its vehicles. I have also filed a formal complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regarding these matters. I await your prompt response and a clear plan to resolve these critical safety issues at no cost to me. Sincerely, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] Vehicle VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: 134,683 INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The ABS control module in my car is inoperable. I have lights on for ABS, brakes, and stabiltrac. Upon further investigation the ABS module is no longer available and no aftermarket part available. This leaves my car useless being I no longer feel safe driving it. If I lock up brakes in an emergency, my car could go into an uncontrollable slide (being front wheel drive) especially on wet roads. This would hold true for all of this make and many year models therefore many unsafe vehicles on road without the ABS braking control. I am at a loss....

The low beams on my 2014 Cadillac SRX are useless at night and dangerous. They are not bright enough to illuminate the road. The car cannot be driven at night unless using the high beams. The problem, as I understand it, is that the coating within the headlight assembly degrades over time due to heat. Hundreds of Cadillac owners have complained of this safety issue to Cadillac and the NHTSA, yet no recall has been issued, and dealerships charge $1800+ labor to fix a well-known defect that makes their cars unsafe.

2014 Cadillac SRX - Driver's side headlight does not work properly on Low Beam. While the light burns, it does not shine forward on the road. It is absolutely as if there was no light at all, when driving at night. Took it to 2 different Cadillac Dealers who tried to fix but was told it was impossible to fix without replacing the entire headlight unit at a cost of more than $2,000. I had this same problem with my 2011 Cadillac SRX, and it was recalled & replaced for free, but there is no recall on the 2014 model - except (I was told) in California. Can't drive at night as a result without driving with High Beam. This is a very dangerous situation.

Today is Saturday, November 11, 2023. While driving my check, engine light came on, and I was given a message on the dash that engine power was reduced. I was only able to drive the car 30 to 45 miles an hour to get home. I have not taken the car to the mechanic yet, but will do so when they open on Monday. I was in a heavily congested area with many cars passing me at great speeds. I connected a code reader to my automobile, and came up with the code P2138. After doing research, it is my understanding that General Motors knows of this problem and has not addressed it at this time. For that reason, I feel I should be reimbursed for mechanic parts and services to repair this problem.

I have a 2014 Cadillac SRX AWD. My passenger rear tire kept losing air. I looked it over a dozen times and never found anything wrong with it as to why it was losing air. I would put air in it and within 2-3 days, I needed to put air in it again. This went on for a few months at least. Then out of nowhere my driver rear tire started losing air and when that started my passenger tire was holding air. Again, I looked my tire over and no screws or anything. Same thing with my passenger rear, I would have to put air in it every couple days. Just 2 days ago I was putting air in my driver rear tire, I stopped for a minute to check to see how much PSI I still needed to go. It was at 30PSI so I had a little left to go then BAM my tire blew. It wasn't even close to where it needed to be. my fiancé took my tire off and it was badly worn from the inside. I hadn't had these tires for 2 years and they should have lasted another year or 2. My boyfriend told me it was because of the toe links rubbing on them and that I needed adjustable ones. I looked on this website for recalls and according to my VIN number I don't have any recalls even though there has been for these rear toe links for other 2010-2016 Cadillacs. I can't drive my car until this is fixed. I should not have to pay for this myself. What if my tire blew when I was driving down the road with my daughter? I would have lost control of the car. All 2010-2016 Cadillacs should get the toe links replaced with adjustable ones immediately.

There was a recall on the toe links, but the dealer did not follow procedures. The toe link was replaced during a recall, but the mechanic never aligned the wheels. This should be standard process and should come free after the recall takes place. They never get back to me after a service request.

The headlights on Cadillac SRX are defective and Cadillac will not have a recall. The lights are so dim I have to drive with my brights on, which is dangerous to other drivers. If I do not use the high beams, I am not able to see what is on the side of the road at night. There could be a person, other vehicle, etc. Therefore an accident could occur or someone could be injured. Cadillac was assisting with repair costs but that ended a couple years ago and I did not know about it as I did not receive a letter. This is a known defect and many people have expressed concern (I found a forum discussion online regarding this issue). My dealer has quoted a price of $2131.39 to replace the headlight assembly. I would appreciate review of this safety issue with this vehicle.

The headlights are so dim that the Cadillac SRX is unsafe to drive at night. The dealer says that it is a known defect but will only give a small discount to replace the headlight assemblies. These cars are unsafe at any speed ! This car has been garage kept and is very low mileage. Please respond to this. Thanks !

Delaminating/Unworking Touch Screen - KNOWN Cadillac issue 1) Back up camera is no longer visible when parking my car. 2) GPS is no longer available due to the spider lines, I have to use my phone for GPS on the highway making it unsafe due to the super small screen instead of the large CUE screen in the Cadillac SRX I purchased. 3) You can no longer pair your cell phone with the Bluetooth in the Cadillac, because of the spider lines on the screen causing the screen to stop working completely. This makes my vehicle no longer handsfree. 4) I can no longer control the heating and cooling system with the touchscreen not working,

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX vehicles manufactured April 14, 2009, to September 1, 2014, and 2011-2012 Saab 9-4X vehicles manufactured February 1, 2011, to September 13, 2011. On the affected vehicles, the jam nut in the rear suspension toe adjuster link may not be torqued to the proper specification. Risk: Failure of the toe adjuster link could cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the torque of the left and right rear toe link adjuster lock nuts, and replace the parts if there is evidence of damage or a loose link, free of charge. Investigations
1 NHTSA investigation on record
Investigations are agency reviews, not findings that a vehicle is defective.
On November 06, 2020, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened a Preliminary Evaluation (PE20-019) to assess the remedy and scope of General Motors (GM) recall 14V-571. ODI had received a total of 9 complaints with allegations of rear toe links separating while the vehicle was in motion. There were 4 complainants indicating that the remedy for recall 14V-571 had been performed on their vehicle. The other 5 complaints were outside the original recall scope but exhibited the same failure mode as addressed by recall 14V-571 and reported uncontrolled swaying while driving.ODI's review focused on all 2010-2015 Cadillac SRX vehicles that experienced a rear toe link failure while the vehicle was in motion under various driving conditions. The failures were the same or similar to those addressed by the remedy associated with recall 14V-571. The remedy for recall 14V-571 was to inspect the rear toe link adjusters and replace them if necessary as well as tighten both jam nuts to a manufacturer specified torque. The remedy can be reversed when the vehicle gets a rear alignment adjustment and the jam nuts are not properly re-torqued to the manufacturer's specification. ODI's data review confirmed a high toe link failure rate in vehicles that either had and had not received the remedy associated with recall 14V-571. On June 24, 2021, GM filed a defect information report recalling all 2010-2016 Cadillac SRX and 2011-2012 Saab 9-4X vehicles to remedy the potential failure of the rear toe link adjuster while driving. The remedy replaces adjustable toe links with non-adjustable toe links. The recall (21V-473) includes vehicles that were remedied under 14V-571. In view of the recall action being taken by GM, ODI is closing this Preliminary Evaluation. NHTSA reserves the right to take additional action if warranted by future circumstances. The ODI complaints cited above can be viewed at www.nhtsa.gov.The ODI identification numbers for the complaints cited above can be found in a separate document attached to this closing resume.
