2020 Porsche Macan

Led adaptive headlights of the Porsche macan S. S. Has malfunctioned spontaneously. Cost to replace the headlights is $5,400. This is an $80,000 car. Asked Porsche North America to look into this. There are multiple comments on online of people complaining about LED headlights on the passenger side. Spontaneously going out and having to spend this much money to replace the light. This is a safety measure and people who can't afford it may delay replacing the lights for a prolonged period of time If Porsche decides to put these kind of high-cost replacement items in lower level luxury cars then they need to support. My car has only $66,000 mi on it and it's only 5 years old

Problem Description: The low beam on the passenger side headlight has completely stopped working. Daytime running lights (DRLs) and high beams continue to function normally on the affected side. There are no dashboard warning lights other than the expected “check low beam” message. The vehicle was taken to Valley Imports Porsche in Fargo, ND, on 4/10/2026, where they diagnosed an internal failure of the integrated LED module in the sealed headlight assembly. They quoted approximately 5,000 for a full headlight replacement (no individual bulb or module repair is possible). This is a known recurring issue on 2019–2021 Porsche Macan models. Driving at night without functional low beams creates a significant safety hazard, as high beams alone are not a legal or safe substitute for normal low-beam illumination. Low beams are required under federal motor vehicle safety standards for safe roadway visibility. The failure occurred despite good overall service history. I request that NHTSA review this as a potential safety defect in the headlight system for these model years.

Passenger side head light stop working little over when car is out of the factory warranty at approximately 55,000 miles, to fix is very expensive, over $4000.00 because you cannot just change the bulb the entire unit need to be replaced. This seems to be a common problem with this model.

There is a common problem with 2020 Porsche Macans that I believe is a Porsche responsibility to fix. This is being reported by many 2020 Porsche Macan owners. The issue: Right Side Low Beam failure. To fix it, you need to replace the entire headlamp assembly (roughly 5k in US dollars). No warning of it failing by a sensor, etc. I believe this is an electrical issue and not a lamp issue. Others have reported the same. Safety issue: Yes, not having proper lighting is a major safety issue. No warning of it failing. No sensor to tell me of issue. Has it been inspected: Yes, I am having a professional repair it - also consulted and reported it to the nearest porsche dealership. Was told by Porsche dealership that this is a known issue but no recall for it from Porsche. I keep my car highly maintained. Did research online - THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2020 PORSCHE MACAN AND SHOULD BE RECALLED.

I have a 2020 Porsche Macan S. My passenger side head light went out and upon taking it to the dealership, I was informed that it’s a a headlight assembly failure. My car is out of warranty, and the dealership quoted me $5400 approx for replacement of the assembly. The diagnosis provided by the dealership indicates that in my case the issue is a full failure of the headlight assembly (LED/driver/module). That is a manufacturer defect. I researched online, and saw many Reddit users as well as Porsche Forums talk about this very issue on 2019 and 2020 Macans. I’ve seen and failure is not isolated: I have found multiple owner reports of 2020 Macan headlight LED failures, which suggests a potential systemic defect. I also see one complaint already filed at NHTSA with a very same problem/concern and I am filing another, hoping this reaches attention and can be resolved. There was several customers nationwide, who also had this happen, and those headlight assemblies should last the lifetime of the car is what the dealership had told me. $5400 is a very expensive and steep cost for a headlight assembly, and it’s certainly an issue that causes great safety concern for 2020 Macan S users, and a major defect. I have reached out to Porsche North America several times over the month, and they have not offered to fix this at goodwill. I have informed them that I would file a NHTSA complaint as well as a BBB complaint, which also yielded no results. Given the cost and the fact that headlights are a critical safety item, I am formally requesting full recall to have Porsche take accountability and replace and or repair at no cost to its customers for the failed headlight assembly.

The 2020 (and possibly 2019) Porsche Macan passenger (right) side headlight (low beam only) is failing. About four months ago the right headlight on my Macan went out and after taking to the dealer, I was informed that the critical headlight failed (the car was less than five years old. Taking the problem to the internet, I found the EXACT problem has occurred to many 2020 Porsche Macans, and seems limited to the right low beam headlight. There are multiple cases reported on Reddit, Macan Forum, Rennlist and other Porsche boards. The dealer informed me that the whole assembly needs to be replaced, which is what all of the posts online stated as well. the cost to replace the assembly if $5,000 ($4,500 part, plus labor). I'd estimate the vehicle is worth $40,000, so one headlight costs more than 10% of the vehicle value (?!?). The dealer seemed to agree with me and checked with Porsche, who acknowledged the problem but said there has not been a recall. A headlight is integral to the safe operation of the vehicle, and the car had no sensor to inform me it was out, and I only found out by a friend telling me. At this stage the vehicle would not pass a safety inspection.

the rear view (and front and side) cameras work intermittently. This makes parking very difficult and when backing out of the driveway you cannot see if there is an object in the vehicle's path. As I was stepping on the accelerator, I heard two pops and somehow the car lost its torque/pull. Check engine light came on. Went to the dealership and they said the high pressure fuel pump is broken and it cracked. There seems to be a recall for 2015 to 2018 models, but not 2020 models. My car only has 13000 miles too. Safety wise, I felt endangered since the car couldn't accelerate properly.

A terrible drain design that has plugged drains emptying rain water into the car. The water from rear drain will fill into then Battery & Sub woofer compartment under under the spare. The drains are not easy to access for cleaning either. you have to be pulling off wheel liners and yanking/cleaning the plugs just so my car doesn’t flood itself. Porsche should modify the plugs so water does not flood into the car. This water damaged caused over $6,500 worth of damage. The main factor is the Airbag Sensors were faulted by the water damage. Might have effects the Airbag function if I was in an accident. That is what scares me

The 2020 Macan developed extreme shakes with 14,000 miles. I had to replace rear brakes and rotors at 14,000 and fronts brakes and rotors at 21,000 at a cost of $3,000.00. Porsche has denied payment for these defective parts. They should recall and fix this ridiculous brake and rotor failures before someone is killed.

The contact owns a 2020 Porsche Macan equipped with Continental Tires, Tires Line: ContiSportContact, Tire Sizes: 265/40/R21, DOT Number: HW43D3JM4320 and 295/35/R21, DOT Number: HW7DD3JK4820. The contact stated while driving approximately 30-35 MPH, the front passenger's side and the rear passenger's side tires experienced blowouts, causing the vehicle to spin out. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and a diagnostic report was sent to the manufacturer. The manufacturer sent a letter to the contact, stating that the tires experienced impact damage on the sidewall, which caused the tire blowouts overtime; therefore, they could not assist. The contact stated that the tires were brand new replacement equipment. The tires were not replaced. I was involved in an accident October 12, 2021 in which the passenger side of my car was hit. The damage was from the front passenger door to the rear bumper. The total damage to date 02/18/2022 is approximately $25K. In the incident - not one single air bag deployed. I suffered a concussion as I hit my head upon impact. I reported the incident directly to Porsche within 2 weeks of the accident. I was transparent with all information and provided all requested documents to Porsche. However, I was advised in December that their engineers weren't able to inspect the airbags and the car worked as it was supposed to in the accident. Strangely enough - I am still waiting as of today 02/18/2022 for my car repairs to be completed by the body shop. So there was ample time for Porsche to inspect the airbag system - 4 months to be exact. Porsche touts it's safety as a top selling feature and I am yet to receive a resolution to the incident of the airbags not deploying during the accident.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2020 PORSCHE MACAN GTS. BACK UP CAMERA FAILS INTERMITTENTLY SINCE CAR WAS NEW A YEAR AGO. Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2003-2020 Porsche Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Cayman S, 2001-2004 Boxster, Boxster S, 2004 Boxster 50 JAHRE SPYDER 550 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of all affected models and model years. The caps that cover the low-beam headlight horizontal adjustment screws are missing, which can allow the headlights to be improperly adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: Improperly adjusted headlights may not illuminate the road properly, or cause a glare to oncoming drivers, which can increase the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Dealers will inspect the headlights for sealing caps and install missing caps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ANB4.

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2016-2020 Macan S, 2017-2020 Macan, 2017 Panamera Turbo, 2018 and 2020 Macan Turbo and Panamera 4, 2018 Macan Sport Edition, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, and 2019 Panamera 4 Sport Turismo vehicles. The screw that attaches the lower seat belt anchor to the seat frame on the outboard rear seats may not have been tightened properly.

Risk: An improperly tightened seat belt anchor can detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: Dealers will replace and tighten the lower rear outboard seat belt anchor screws, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 24, 2023. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is APA9.
