On April 2nd I took my vehicle into the dealer for recall servicing. After leaving the dealer I had my vehicle inspected the next day by a third party repair shop and my brake caliper was missing the main bolt that connects to the brake pad. Brake pads were also less than 5% wear remaining. Myself and others were put in serious danger if my brakes had failed due to this serious oversight and disregard. My suspension also was unsafe in the rear but the dealer carried out a multi point inspection stating everything passed.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti Q50. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the message "No Key Detected" was displayed. The contact waved the key fob around the START/STOP button, and the message ceased. The contact stated that the light around the START/STOP button was orange, but was green before the failure. One day, while driving the vehicle, the engine failed to shut off after shifting into park(P) and pressing the START/STOP button. The contact made several attempts to turn off the vehicle. The message to "Visit the Dealer" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics before finding a mechanic who was able to turn off the vehicle by removing the starter fuse. The mechanic advised the contact to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer performed a water test and discovered that there was a leak in the sunroof, which had caused the failure. The mechanic discovered that water had leaked through the firewall in the body control module (BCM), causing the failure. The contact was provided with an estimate, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that after the repair, while the vehicle was idling, the vehicle intermittently jerked. There was no warning light illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

Front and middle crossmember rusted out to the point they have no more structural effects issues discovered while fixing a know issue to these models : rusted out and leaking engine and transmission oils pans I had confirmation from the dealership and other independent repair shop that leaking oils pans are common for those models and can cause engine and transmission failure. For the crossmembers they are important structural components that directly affect suspension/direction and drivetrain secureness. If the plastic shrouds/cover are not taken off during inspection those issues will goes undetected until one of them reaches failure

I had my car inspected by a certified mechanic and he diagnosed the problem. He also stated that that he has seen this a lot with Infinitis. I have maintained my car well but this is Not a maintenance issue. There are thousands of infiniti owners online stating that they had the exact same problem. I filed a case with Infiniti #52260861. This is a design flaw with All Infiniti cars and SUV's and it should be a Recall or at a minimum fixed for free by Infiniti. While driving and using the air conditioning system coming out of the vents, the drivers side windows fog up and cannot be cleared with a rag or paper towel. This causes the drivers side windows to become heavily congested causing it virtually impossible to see out of the window and look into the drivers side mirror causing a major blind spot. This is especially troubling in the warmer weather. I’ve avoided two accidents because of the the blind spots this creates not being able to see out of the drivers side window and trying to look into the drivers side mirror to see if the left lane is safe to merge into to.

Transmission will not shift out of 3rd gear. I was driving down the freeway in 7th gear doing 75mph when all of sudden the transmission threw itself into 2nd gear then to 3rd. It felt like I was driving over a very large boulder and my transmission was being ripped out from under the car. Then my check engine light came on. So I had it towed home. I went for a test drive and the car will shift 1st, 2nd then 3rd but won’t go to 4th. It just stays in 3rd, it doesn’t slow down, it continues to rise in rpm and speed but won’t go out of 3rd gear. It also will not go into the manual shift mode either. I have read online about thousands of others with the same exact transmission having the same exact problem. I almost was not able to control my car so it most definitely is a big safety issue. I had autozone run a scan on it and it popped up all of these codes. My dash had zero warning lights at all before the incident happened.

The backup camera (parking assist camera) image is flipped left/right. The backup video display shows the rear view of the vehicle and super imposes the direction of travel with turn based on the position of the steering wheel. With image flipped left/right reversing the vehicle is counter intuitive and does not match the super imposed directional guidelines. When this malfunction occurred I nearly crashed into a parked car while trying to reverse into a parking spot. There is no indication of the malfunction. Driver must realize the image is flipped and turn in the opposite direction. This is definitely a safety risk.

ENGINE HAS ROUGH IDLE WHILE IN PARK. EVEN AFTER THE FOLLOWING MAINTENANCE WAS DONE. REPLACING SPARK PLUGS, ENGINE SOFTWARE UPDATE, COOLANT FLUSH, POWER STEERING FLUSH, FUEL SYSTEM CLEAN, NEW MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS BOTH SIDES, SERPENTINE BELT, ALL NEW GASKETS ON TOP PART OF ENGINE, VALVE COVER, INTAKE MANIFOLD, SPARK PLUG TUBE SEALS. FLUSHED REAR AND REAR DIFF AND TRANSMISSION. STEERING IS HEAVY TO TURN. THE COLDER IT IS OUTSIDE THE WORSE THE ENGINE SHAKES. THROTTLE RESPONSE IS DELAYED AT TIMES. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD THE WORSE THE ENGINE SHAKES. COLDER IT IS THE SLOWER THE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN ALONG WITH THE WIPERS. ENGINE DROPS RPM WHEN TURNING WHEEL WHILE IN PARK. WHEN DRIVING ENGINE DROPS ABOUT 100 - 200 RPM THEN KEEPS GOING BACK UP UNDER ACCELERATION BUT CAUSES TRANSMISSION TO SHIFT HARD. THIS PROBLEM CAUSES THE OUTPUT SHAFT SEAL TO BREAK AND REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSORS WERE REPLACED. AFTER A SHARP TURN CAR HESITATES TO ACCELERATE EVEN IF HARD ON THE GAS. EXTREME COLD TEMPS OUTSIDE MAKE THE ENGINE ALMOST SOUND AS IF SOMETHING INSIDE ENGINE INTERNALS IS NOT RIGHT. HOT AND HUMID WEATHER MAKES IT RUN THE BEST. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PROBLEM STARTED AT 90,000 MILES NOW IM AT 126,000 MILES AND STILL NO FIX AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. EVEN GOING UP THE SMALLEST HILL INCLINE MAYBE A COUPLE FEET OVER A DISTANCE OF MAYBE 3 BLOCKS ENGINE DOWNSHIFTS TO 5TH GEAR JUST TO MAINTAIN 70MPH EVEN THOUGH I CAN BE GOING 50MPH IN 7TH GEAR. CAR JOLTS FORWARD WHEN COMING TO A STOP AS IF THE OUTPUT SHAFT IS STILL SPINNING AT A DIFFERENT SPEED THAN THE ENGINE. CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF NOT FIXED. OTHER INFINITI CARS SEEM TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. EVEN THE G37.

MY VEHICLE HAS HAD TO HAVE MY ROTORS REPLACED 5 TIMES OR MORE IN A SINGLE YEAR. THE DEALER SAID THAT THESE ROTORS GET HOT AND CREATE HOT SPOTS WHICH IN TURN REQUIRES NEW ROTORS AND BRAKES EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE COST FOR SUCH A LUXURY VEHICLE. THERE IS A RISK THAT THESE ROTORS WILL CONTINUE TO BURN THROUGH THE PADS LEAVING DRIVERS WITHOUT PROPER BRAKING SYSTEMS.

VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND DETERMINED THAT BATTERY WAS DEAD. ARRANGED FOR JUMP START (THROUGH MY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) BUT VEHICLE WOULD STILL NOT START. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO INFINITI DEALERSHIP. THEY FIGURED OUT A WAY TO CHARGE CAR (WASN'T ACCESSIBLE VIA FRONT HOOD SINCE A HYBRID) AND FOUND A WAY TO OPEN TRUCK TO DIRECT ACCESS AND CHARGE BATTERY. UPON CAR STARTING, VARIOUS ERROR CODES APPEARED. CAR DEALERSHIP HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT THEY MEANT AS THEY HAD NOT SEEN THEM BEFORE. I CONTACTED INFINITI CORPORATE AND THEY ASSOCIATED THE CODES WITH A PREVIOUS DAS VOLUNTARY RECALL. HOWEVER, UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY DEALERSHIP, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT DAS UPDATE WAS ALREADY APPLIED. TO DETERMINE THE ROOT CAUSE, I WAS TOLD IT WOULD REQUIRE THE CAR TO BE PARTIALLY DISASSEMBLED. AS TWO OF THE CODES POINTS TO A BRAKING SYSTEM ISSUE, AND ONE TO THE CHASSIS SYSTEM, I WANTED TO VERIFY IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IF A RECALL IS NEEDED. (SEE ATTACHMENTS FOR REFERENCE)

OUR FRONT RIGHT BUMPER WAS JUST SLIGHTLY DAMAGED WHEN BACK OUT OF OUR GARAGE. IT WAS VERY MILD COSMETIC DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED AT ONLY A SPEED OF PERHAPS 5 MPH. ORIGINAL BODY WORK ESTIMATES CAME IN AT $2,000 ONLY TO SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL WITH THE STEERING MODULES BEING REPLACED THEM STEERING RACK BEFORE THE CAR WAS ULTIMATELY TOTALED AS THE STEERING PROGRAMMING WAS STILL OFF. UPON RESEARCH WE FOUND OUT THAT THIS PARTICULAR MODEL WAS PLAGUED WITH ELECTRONIC STEERING ISSUES WHICH APPEARED TO BE ADDRESSED UNDER MULTIPLE RECALLS. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THEY HAVE VIDEOS OF THE STEERING WHEEL GOING CRAZY BACK AND FORTH WILDLY AFTER THE MODULES WERE REPLACED. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT SUCH AN INSIGNIFICANT BUMP COULD NOT ONLY RESULT IN TOTALING A VEHICLE BUT COULD JEOPARDIZE A DRIVER'S SAFETY WITH THE STEERING ISSUES.

ON SEPTEMBER 5TH, I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 INFINITI Q50 AND ONCE IT REACHED 2ND OR 3RD GEAR, THE TRANSMISSION REVVED UP AND THE CAR LOCKED THE TIRES UP AND THREW US FORWARD LIKE IT WAS SLAMMED INTO A LOW GEAR. I HAD TO TOW THE CAR HOME 400 MILES AND DROPPED IT OFF AT THE INFINITI DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 7TH 2020. AS OF OCTOBER 24TH 2020, I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR BACK. I WAS INFORMED BY THE PARTS MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WERE OVER 700 VALVE BODY'S ON BACKORDER. HE CLAIMED THAT NISSAN/INFINITI WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS BEING VERY PICKY WITH THE QUALITY CONTROL OF THE NEW PARTS TO INSURE THERE WOULD BE NO FURTHER PROBLEMS. THEY ARE QUOTING $2400 PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE CAR. WAS ADVISED BY THE PARTS MANAGER TO CONTACT INFINITI CUSTOMER AFFAIRS.

Steering · 13V588000Details +

Nissan North America, Inc.'s (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 Infiniti Q50 vehicles equipped with Direct Adaptive Steering. The affected vehicles received a power steering software version that, should the engine compartment reach freezing temperatures, the power steering software may disable the electric steering system and also may delay the engagement of the mechanical steering backup system.

Risk: The disablement of the steering systems could result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Nissan notified owners and arranged to have vehicles towed to the nearest Infiniti retailer. Customers were instructed not to drive their vehicles until they were repaired. Infiniti retailers provided affected customers with loaner vehicles, while the software update remedy was applied. These services were provided at no cost to the customer. Owners may contact Infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Altima, LEAF, Pathfinder, and Sentra, model year 2013 NV200 (aka Taxi) and Infiniti JX35 and model year 2014 Infiniti Q50 and QX60 vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the occupant classification system (OCS) software may incorrectly classify the passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.

Risk: If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on April 14, 2014. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

Air Bags · 16V244000Details +

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

Risk: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Remedy: Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

In April 2014, Nissan North America launched Safety Recall 14V-138 to address problems with the Occupant Classification System (OCS) algorithm in the following vehicles: model year (MY) 2013-2014 Nissan Altima, Pathfinder, Sentra and LEAF; MY 2013 Infiniti JX35; MY 2014 Infiniti QX60 and Q50; and MY 2013 Nissan NV 200/Taxi vehicles.According to Nissan, the OCS may misclassify adult front passenger occupants and turn off the passenger's frontal air bag for an adult occupant of sufficient weight.In March 2015, the Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this Recall Query after the agency received approximately 124 complaints alleging problems with the OCS after the recall repairs and/or other OCS related repairs were made by Nissan/Infiniti dealers.The majority of the complaints alleged the passenger air bag status light stays on (i.e., indicating passenger air bag is turned off) for adult front passengers of sufficient weight.Many of the complaints stated the dealers have made multiple repairs but the problem still persists.In its June 2015 response to ODI's information request under the Recall Query, Nissan provided approximately 1,121 complaints and field reports on the recalled vehicles.These reports alleged OCS issues similar to the NHTSA reports described above.At this time, NHTSA has received a total of approximately 208 complaints (note: total of 1,271 reports shown in the table above eliminates 58 duplicative reports received by ODI and manufacturer).This Recall Query has been upgraded to an Engineering Analysis (EA15-004) to conduct a comparative assessment and further evaluate the effectiveness of the recall remedy which will include a thorough review of the countermeasures taken by Nissan and its suppliers.The ODI reports cited above can be reviewed online at http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/SearchNHTSAID under the following identification numbers:10583283 10585264 10585349 10585379 10592434 10593399 10593501 10594329 10594614 10594755 10595161 10595645 10595946 10596128 10596459 10596952 10597037 10597452 10597518 10597719 10598537 10598869 10604755 10604834 10605188 10605251 10606565 10606828 10607038 10609649 10610519 10610991 10614467 10614609 10614745 10616905 10617008 10617507 10617903 10618099 10618202 10619059 10619563 10620719 10621840 10622214 10625808 10625981 10625998 10626006 10626023 10626335 10626458 10626732 10628355 10629382 10629460 10629606 10630441 10630502 10630990 10632251 10632588 10632934 10632997 10633714 10633810 10637994 10638591 10639040 10639147 10639324 10639473 10643046 10643843 10644203 10644333 10644341 10644690 10644891 10644985 10648834 10648997 10649414 10649772 10649874 10651360 10651564 10651924 10651982 10652024 10658665 10658844 10659484 10660294 10661195 10661358 10661541 10661795 10661855 10662901 10663033 10663338 10663860 10663978 10668054 10668768 10670538 10672807 10673088 10676471 10678478 10678997 10679512 10680748 10680769 10680975 10681656 10682235 10682902 10682993 10683391 10683689 10689672 10689809 10689981 10691626 10692137 10692558 10692625 10693168 10695312 10700614 10700960 10701008 10701011 10701014 10701018 10701023 10701027 10701031 10701032 10701035 10701045 10701055 10701064 10701074 10701146 10701196 10701228 10701237 10701254 10701301 10701306 10701326 10701367 10701370 10701384 10701415 10701453 10701526 10701558 10701656 10701670 10701946 10702003 10702667 10702798 10703032 10703657 10703766 10703813 10704196 10704988 10705530 10705919 10706621 10712543 10712568 10712575 10713335 10714316 10714330 10714536 10714980 10715132 10715945 10717336 10720918 10720971 10721331 10721746 10723424 10724568 10731167 10731868 10732012 10732065
