“While operating my 2019 Honda Pilot, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete failure of its advanced driver safety systems. Without warning, a cascade of simultaneous error messages illuminated on the dashboard, completely disabling the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist networks.This defect renders critical safety features completely inoperable and causes severe driver distraction due to persistent dashboard warnings flashing on the loop. This failure occurred when turning on the car. The sudden loss of safety systems while traveling at highway speeds poses an unreasonable risk of a crash, as the vehicle can no longer utilize automatic emergency braking or lane assistance features.The vehicle currently has about 88000 miles. The dealership has indicated the issue stems from a failure of the front-facing windshield camera sensor, matching the systematic defect patterns alleged in active federal class-action litigation against Honda. I am requesting that the NHTSA formally investigate this widespread camera component failure to mandate a safety recall.”

“Additional Comments for Complaint #11750912:I am uploading photographic evidence of severe material delamination on my vehicle's front radar emblem shield (Part #71125-TG7-A51) [71125-TG7-A51].This manufacturing defect caused a critical safety failure: my vehicle recently executed a sudden, violent phantom braking event on the highway with absolutely no prior warning lights or error codes on the dashboard. The peeling layers and air bubbles on the emblem physically refracted the radar signals, creating a false target that locked the brakes and nearly caused a severe rear-end collision.While I was driving alone during this specific incident, this car is my primary family vehicle used daily to transport my wife and my three young children. I am now genuinely terrified to drive my family in this vehicle and must manually turn off the CMBS system every time I start the car to protect them. American Honda Corporate (Case #16495852) has formally refused to address this active braking hazard, deflecting the issue by focusing only on unrelated radio glitches.I request a federal safety investigation into Honda’s radar emblem material degradation, as it directly compromises collision-mitigation systems without triggering automated dashboard fault alerts, putting families and young children at immediate risk.”

“WHEN I STARTED MY 2019 HONDA PILOT TOURING CAR ON 7/13/26 MORNING, WHERE THE SCREEN WHERE THE SPEED USUALLY SHOWS SHOWED AMBER COLORED WARNINGS FOR HONDA SENSING FEATURES: ACC, LKAS, CMBS, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM, AUTO HIGH BEAM. LKAS, CMBS AND BRAKE SYSTEM AMBER ICONS ARE ON. INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY SHOWS ACC AND CMBS HAS A PROBLEM. I TRIED CLEANING THE WINDSHIELD AND SENSORS IN THE FRONT BUT SAME WARNINGS STILL CONTINUED TO SHOW AT NEXT START UP AND DRIVE. LAST FEW DAYS I STARTED IT STILL POPS UP SO I TOOK IT TO INDEPENDENT SHOP YESTERDAY 7/15/26. THEY PULLED A U-CODE FOR MULTIPURPOSE CAMERA, TRIED TO CLEAN THE SENSORS BUT WARNINGS WOULD STILL SHOW SO IT'S A HARD CODE NOW. I HAD THEM DOCUMENT IT FOR ME. THESE ARE SAFETY FEATURES THAT CAME WITH THE CAR, SHOULD THEY BE FAILING THIS EARLY ON? I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING TO THERE, HAVEN'T BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS INVOLVING THAT AREA AND HAVEN'T HAD WINDSHIELD REPLACED EITHER. THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIX IT AS THEY DON'T HAVE THE CALIBRATION EQUIPMENT SO SAID WE'D NEED TO SEND TO HONDA DEALER.”

“For about a year now the front facing camera throw 5 warnings, my cruise dont work, and it cost 2200 to fix. I follow a honda group on fb and apparently this is the main complaint. Something needs to be done bc it is very un sage to have all these safety features and they may r may not work”

“I am filing this complaint because my 2019 Honda Pilot has developed a serious safety-related defect. When I started the vehicle, multiple warning lights remain on, including the LKAS, ACC, CMBS, and Brake System warnings. I haven't had it inspected by the dealer yet, as the closest dealer is 25 miles away down a curvy mountain road. I expect that it will be determined that the front-facing camera has failed. Because this camera supports several driver-assistance and warning systems, the failure has made those systems unreliable and prevents the vehicle from accurately alerting me to other potential problems. This creates a significant safety concern because, if another malfunction occurs, I may not be able to distinguish it from the existing warnings. The warning lights remain active unless the camera is replaced at an estimated cost of $2,600. I do not believe owners should be responsible for such an expensive repair when the failure affects critical safety and warning functions. This issue appears to be recurring among 2019 Honda Pilots, with similar complaints reported by other owners online and in social media forums. I respectfully request that Honda investigate this defect and provide an appropriate remedy, including repair assistance or coverage for the failed camera system.”
