“Hello, I wish to report this injury / incident with the failure of the power running boards on my 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Limited. There are no warning Lamps on the vehicle. The truck is regularly serviced and inspected. The truck recently had a multi-point inspection at the dealer. The power running boards started to come out after I opened my door, as I stepped down, the steps retracted and went back in causing me to fall hard on the ground and smash my knees. Driver and passenger sides are now acting up, even with the truck parked and locked, passenger side wants to go in and out on its own and sometimes extends to the tire. As I researched this problem, I found out that others have had similar issues with the same vehicles that have these power running boards. I removed the fuse now to prevent further injuries.”

“I was driving at 45 mph and all of a sudden the screens went black as if the truck was turned off and the first thing I did was turn on the hazards because I didn’t know if the engine shut off either there was on coming traffic from both my front and back so I was scared my truck shut off 5-7 seconds later the screens turned back on and everything went back to normal but I was scared that my truck just turned off I made the dealership aware of this issue as soon as I pulled over and they said they had a busy schedule and that they would try to have a manager reach out to me to “squeeze me in” Mind you I just got my truck back from the dealership due to electrical issues and service yesterday and not even 24 hours later this happened so I am upset.”

“The Telematics Control Module failed - it no longer functions. This affects the ability to use OnStar services, such as navigation assistance, but especially OnStar emergency services which would be needed in case of a vehicle crash or other emergency. OnStar no longer works due to the module failure. There is a backlog of at least several months, or longer, before a new module is available. Many people complain that the replacement module often fails within a few months,”
