The dealership technician verified that the external wiring harness is fully intact, isolating the failure strictly to the internal transmission sensor.Manufacturer Actions:General Motors Corporate (Case thread::oxEmaLlrKKms4NDj0d9wJ0w::) is actively refusing to authorize the dealership to drop the transmission pan to replace this failing component under the active Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty. They are citing the "intermittent" nature of the safety hazard as a reason to deny diagnostics, forcing me to either operate an unsafe vehicle or leave it parked.”

“The internal transmission Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS) and its associated internal circuit/lead frame assembly failed. The vehicle is fully intact, operational, and available for inspection upon request. When the Output Shaft Speed Sensor intermittently loses its signal (dropping to 0 RPM while the vehicle is stopped at red lights or in traffic), it forces the vehicle into an immediate electronic "limp mode." Upon pressing the gas pedal to accelerate, the transmission violently slams into gear with massive mechanical force. This sudden, unpredictable jerking and hesitation while accelerating into active traffic creates an immediate risk of being rear-ended, losing traction, or losing control of the heavy vehicle in an intersection. The problem was officially confirmed via a diagnostic computer scan by an authorized GM dealership (Crews Chevrolet), which pulled and documented history codes P0722 (Output Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal) and P0700 (Transmission Control System Malfunction Warning). However, the dealership declined physical teardown or sensor replacement because the electronic failure is intermittent and could not be replicated during a brief technician test drive. Yes. The vehicle's external wiring harness was physically inspected by an authorized General Motors dealership technician, who confirmed the external wiring passed inspection. This officially isolates the intermittent electrical drop to an internal transmission component failure. It has not been inspected by police or insurance. Yes. The symptoms appeared suddenly without prior warning. The transmission began shifting erratically and violently, immediately followed by the illumination of the dashboard Check Engine Light (Malfunction Indicator Lamp). “Truck stutters and idles terrible. Vehicle warning light keeps saying, reduce acceleration and drive safely. Two years ago an injector went bad, and it was fixed. 6 months ago, we had it in the shop, of course still under the 60k mile warranty. Said it was fixed, it wasn’t. Just had it back there, and they replaced the the torque converter. Shaking stopped for a month. Now it is even worse. Believe it is faulty injectors. Sadly, we’re not passed the 60k warranty period and feel unsafe driving our truck which we need every single day. Truck is nearly paid off and feel like we got jipped as this truck continues to have problems after problems”

“Truck continues to shutter after having the torque converter replaced and the 2nd injector replaced. Been in the shop several times over the last few years, and still giving warnings on the dash saying, reduce acceleration drive safely. Feel like we just got a terrible vehicle. Almost paid off, and it’s just unreliable. Sadly we need this truck every single day, and the local dealerships have now pushed the problem out so far that we’re passed out 60k warranty period.”

“1)The truck experiences an intermittent but complete failure of the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor circuit and multiple chaffing points of the vehicle wiring harness. This issue is a documented manufacturing and electrical defect covered under General Motors Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) #24-NA-012. Yes, the truck is available for inspection. 2)This issue has happened to me on five occasions where I was traveling over 50 MPH and the vehicle violently jerked with my wife and children in the truck with me. This defect poses an immediate, severe safety hazard due to unpredictable, sudden engine/transmission jerk while operating at highway speeds. My main priority is my family! This failure compromises my ability to safely maneuver, accelerate, or steer the heavy-duty vehicle out of active lanes of traffic, dramatically increasing the risk of a high-speed rear-end collision or crash. 3) The problem has been reproduced by Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Norfolk and R.K. Chevrolet Virginia Beach. There are service invoices confirming these reproducible jerks and subsequent engine codes thrown. 4) No, I brought this up to General Motors as a safety issue but they have brushed off my concerns. 5) The second time I had the violent jerk I had a message appear on my DTC that stated "174 mi Until 65 MPH Max Speed and Service Emission System See Owner's Manual" that was on 2/21/2026. Extra Note: The vehicle sat disabled at a dealership service center for 21 cumulative days during the initial attempt to repair this specific defect under TSB #24-NA-012. Merely 58 days after the repair, the identical crankshaft position sensor circuit/wiring failure reoccurred while driving, resulting in secondary engine failure and requiring a visit to an independent service facility for diagnostic verification and wiring replacement. Internal vehicle history confirms that prior to my truck ownership the crankshaft position sensor was replaced in December 2025 weeks before I purchased the truck.”
