I bought my traverse in 2024 it’s now two year later and my entire transmission needs replaced no longer shifting between 1000& 2000rpms this is a known issue with these vehicles and there hasn’t been a recall yet. Also the button in my shift knob tells me it is not in park (shift to park) even though it’s clearly in park. Along with the transmission issue the stabilitrack warning comes on every time the car comes out of auto shut off and jumps forward. How is this safe?

My 2019 Chevy Traverse prior to "The Storm" when I left work and approached my vehicle someone left a not in my windshield wipers stating that my horn was honking every 15 seconds it was a long shift so by the time I got to my vehicle my battery was dead. I got a jump from a co-worker allowed my alternator to charge my battery, and it was fine (so I thought). Then the day after "The Storm" happened, my Traverse went haywire displaying multiple signs of electronic failures while driving on a major highway: Service ESC, ABS disabled, Traction control disabled, Power steering disabled, Horn honked continuously, windows won't roll down, Key fob unresponsive, Manual lock/ unlock switch unresponsive, A/C on but doesn't blow cold, infotainment system on, Cluster Hazard light indicators on but lights aren't illuminated, Windshield Wipers on max speed unprompted while spraying continuously. I pulled over, placed the vehicle in "park", turned the vehicle off, safely exited to realize my vehicle was still running, got back into the vehicle where I was greeted by a prompt that said to place the vehicle in park to turn it off. I attempted to shift but it was immovable, called a tow truck. Every time after dealership visits/ repairs my vehicle shutoff while moving. It's been to the dealership 3 times (4 to include tomorrow) I've also connected an OBD2 Scanner to run a diagnostic after the last visit and these faults appeared almost instantly. Work done so far: x2 BCM replacements (w/ flashed software) x1 Battery replacement x1 Keyless Entry Module replacement x1 Driver door lock/unlock switch replacement x3-->4 tow trucks Over $3,000 in expenses

Exhaust bracket broke, created a hole in pipe, which then resulted in cracked catalytic converter. Dealership and GM denied repairs due to the hole being on the "wrong pipe" but the same bracket that is covered broke resulting in the consequential damage. Check engine light came on, loud exhaust noise. Threw codes P219A, P2097, P0171. Bulletin even outlines that broken bracket/hole can cause cracks in converter, still denied. This is a known issue with the welding on this pipe/bracket, why they didn't extend the coverage to BOTH pipes is beyond me.

My car started making a sound similar to a cracked muffler but it was a very quiet sound that lasted a minute or two and went away. I thought something was loose and took to repair shop. My catalytic converter was cracked & the mechanic said it was in a place he had never seen before. Very high up. He tried to go through GM but my issue isn’t the same as any other that had been reported. My car only has 53,536 miles on it and I bought it new in October of 2019. I maintain consistent maintenance on it at the same repair shop. There is a recall on this car about emissions and possibly affecting the catalytic converter. If I do not fall into that recall so be it but maybe I am not the only person reporting this issue. I just want to have it on record in case it ever does become a recall.

Our 2019 traverse transmission around 130,000 miles started shuddering when slowly accelerating or driving. Not sure what causes this but I do know that it should be doing this as well as getting the Shift to Park message. I looked online and found that it's supposed to be the torque converter. I then contacted a transmission repair specialist and he stated that changing the fluid may make it worse or make it possibly fail altogether. Then I found a video about Shudder Fix and I added one of those packets to the transmission and it stopped the shudder but it now seems to be trying to creep back. This is a known issue with most people not being able to afford the $9000+ repair costs. The Shift to park issue is another issue that shouldn't be happening and the dealership will charge an arm and a leg for the repairs on this as well. Pressing the gear shift button about 5 to 10 times after shifting to park is a short term solution because that issue is tied to a spring action underneath the shifter to tell the car I'm in park. I found a bypass piece that is required to resolve the issue but I shouldn't have to do that to get this vehicle to work properly. Chevy needs to do a recall on this or they run the risk of having a bunch of them on the market where we all got rid of them and won't buy anymore Chevrolet vehicles. This is the second newer model vehicle I had from them. The first one was an Impala and the dealership didn't know why the screen would go black and cause the car to start hesitating horribly. So I left it with the dealership, they can have it back.

The car started locking up my steering wheel. I took it to the mechanic and they ran the codes and said it is the ABS control system module. I called the dealer to get the part and they said it is on back order nationally and it may be months before they can get the part. The 2018 model for Chevrolet traverse has been recalled for this exact thing but my model has not even though this is a known issue. Driver's side airbag. A car crashed into the driver's side at a 90 degree angle that caused damage starting right behind the driver's door and continued all the way to the rear of the vehicle. The damage was severe enough that the driver's side passenger door, the rear wheel, hub, hub assembly, linkage, lower control arm, and tire, rear fender, the pillar and hingers between the front and rear door, steering gear and linkage. Vehicle: 2019 Chevrolet Traverse Issue: “Shift to Park” warning – vehicle fails to recognize it is in Park I am filing a complaint regarding a persistent &dangerous defect with my 2019 Chevrolet Traverse involving the “Shift to Park” warning system. For the past several years, my vehicle has repeatedly failed to recognize that it is in Park, even when it clearly is. This issue has escalated into a serious safety and reliability concern. Most recently, I was stranded in a store parking lot for over two hours because my vehicle would not properly shut off or restart due to the false “Shift to Park” warning. I had to call someone to disconnect the battery to prevent it from draining completely, which caused additional cost and inconvenience. After reconnecting the battery, the vehicle still would not start for another 2hours. This defect leaves me at risk of being stranded at any time, including in unsafe or isolated. As a single parent of 4 young children, this creates a significant safety concern for my family. This problem has been ongoing since Oct 2023 and has occurred repeatedly since then, and consistently every month since then, often four or more times per month. I have brought this issue to a Chevrolet dealership, Reed-Lallier Chevrolet in Fayetteville, NC, multiple times. Despite being charged diagnostic fees, no permanent fix has been provided. This is a known issue with this vehicle model related to a faulty shifter assembly or park detection system. This defect impacts the vehicle’s ability to shut off, restart, & function reliably, creating a serious safety hazard. I am requesting that this issue be formally investigated & that appropriate action be taken to require a recall or manufacturer-covered repair. This problem is widespread among similar vehicles & should not continue to leave drivers stranded or at risk. I keep having emission problems. The first time I took it to the dealership they fixed then it messed up again had that fixed about three months later check engine light was on again same thing had it fixed for the third time check engine light went off and of course came back home had to fix it again it’s off for now. I’m just waiting for it to pop back on. Second problem that I’ve been having is the fuel pressure sensor changed it light went off now it’s back on. They say change the fuel pump just to see. Did that check engine light back on? Complete transmission failure while driving approximately 60 MPH. Transmission started shifting irregularly while driving at a steady speed on a 55 MPH paved county road and locked into 3rd gear slowing me down quite suddenly. I turned on my emergency flashers and pulled into a parking lot. If traffic had been heavy I could easily have been hit from behind for unexpected deceleration with no brakes applied and no brake lights to warn a following vehicle. There were no dash warning on even after stopping. The vehicle has 111,000 miles on it and has been used to tow loads rarely, and the loads were far below the 5000 lb rating of the vehicle. Because it is well past the 75,000 mile power-train warranty (I bought it used) I am having to pay nearly $9,000 for a remanufactured transmission replacement at my local dealership. When placing the vehicle in park, whether it’s on a flat surface or an incline, the SHIFT TO PARK notification displays. In addition, the nonfiction chime rings consistently until the gear shift is realigned or until it stops on its own. During this ringing period the headlights won’t go off and the ringing last anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. The longest time recorded was 20 minutes. I had to replace my 2019 traverse transmission around 105,000 miles but had a shuddering when slowly accelerating or driving since around 70,000 miles. Possibly a programming issue with the transmission control module?? Because after replacing transmission the shuddering still happened and I had to reprogram the transmission control module again and then the shuddering is 95% gone. Also , shift to park alert is a big issue too. If you put the car in park sometimes you have to maneuver the shift knob and tap it to make the “park to shift” go away so I can lock my car.

The transmission failure has resulted in **slipping, hesitation, and loss of proper power delivery**, which creates a **potential safety hazard**, particularly during acceleration, merging, and highway driving. A loss of propulsion or delayed response in traffic significantly increases the risk of an accident. This issue was identified while the vehicle was under warranty and was not properly resolved. The repeat failure suggests a **systemic defect** rather than normal wear. General Motors has declined further assistance. Risk: Unsecured side curtain air bags may not perform as intended, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, realign or replace the weld nuts, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 24, 2021. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2019 Buick Encore, Chevrolet Spark, Traverse, and Trax vehicles. The Sensing Diagnostic Module (SDM) on these vehicle may not have been turned off of "manufacturing mode," preventing the air bags from deploying in the event of a crash.

Risk: If the air bags do not deploy in the event of a crash, it can increase the risk of injury.

Risk: Missing bolts on the start-stop accumulator endcap could result in a transmission oil leak and may progress to a loss of propulsion, increasing the risk of a crash. A transmission fluid leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.

Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the start-stop transmission accumulator and replace it if any bolts are missing, free of charge. The recall began December 15, 2020.
