Onstar module out. Car can not be detected of location. Can not use gps. In the event of accident onstar can not help me this is a safety problem for a woman especially. When it first went out the car would not cut completely off had to disconnect battery. The gps light stays on with a line through it. Can’t use blue onstar button it’s completely out. Dealership says module needs to be changed. It has also affected other components of the car. I see this is a wide range problem. Dealer sell this as a safety component in the car but when asked about a recall they now want to state its its luxury.

The transmission on the vehicle failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle began jolting, when accelerating from a stop, or when slowing to a stop. Seemed to be slipping out of gear while driving. We reported the incident to the dealership. They said they found nothing wrong. The issue continued, and the check engine light came on, so we returned to the dealer again. This time they found it needed the transmission to be rebuilt. They have had the car at the service center for 5 months. The parts they need are no longer available.

Parked a running vehicle, 2023 Buick Envision with 52000 miles and when I went to start the car again, it would not run; cranked OK but would not start, just "stumbled" for a few seconds and then nothing. Tried several times thereafter to start to no avail. Called for a tow and learned that due to a not running vehicle that has electronic transmission, could not put it in neutral to allow a simple tow; tow driver had to put dolly on both front wheels and rear to tow to GM dealer. Original decision by service rep was that the fault was due to a bad fuel pump module. I called GM for any recall on this model and device only to hear that it was not a problem for them to present a recall. I am not the first customer that has had this problem according to your website and number of complaints with the same make, year, and model of Buick.

Electrical SystemJan 2026 · ODI 11711263Details +

While driving in traffic, after changing lanes, the vehicle experienced a complete electrical shutdown without warning. The engine shut off, the dashboard went completely black, and hazard lights were not functional. There were no warning lights, messages, or audible alerts prior to the failure. The vehicle was in active traffic and, stopped without power steering or brake assist. After opening the hood, multiple wiring harnesses and a loose battery cable were visually observed. When wiring was physically moved, electrical power was immediately restored. Upon restart, the vehicle hesitated to start and then displayed messages instructing the driver to open and close the driver and passenger windows, indicating a full system reset due to power loss. We were able to return home safely. Parked the car, and obtained a rental. The vehicle had been serviced by the Buick dealership where the car was purchased, three days earlier. Two days after the incident, I was able to speak to someone at the dealership, who stated they may have bumped something. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, and assessed. The dealership later documented a loose battery cable and promised to replace a fatigued clip, but denied responsibility for the incident. I contacted the manufacturer, and was referred back to the dealership. The vehicle has only been inspected by the dealership. This incident created a serious safety risk, to our lives, as well as our fellow drivers' lives, as the vehicle lost all electrical power, including required safety lighting, while in traffic, without warning. The vehicle is available for inspection, upon request.

I bought a used 2023 Buick Envision with 49k miles on it. It was not covered under warranty due to mileage. A couple of weeks after purchase the CEL came on. It was originally diagnosed as a bad battery. It was later diagnosed as a failed Telematics Module. I had the module replaced on 8/23/25 so it is not available for inspection unless the dealer has it. After reading many complaints for the same problem on many different GM cars I suspect the bad battery had been drained by the failing Telematics module. Although it did not happen to me directly others have reported the car dying in the middle of the road because the battery died. The car has only been inspected by two dealerships since my purchase. I am reporting this because there are so many others facing this problem. I live in Los Angeles and my dealership was able to get the part and replace it. So many others are not even able to get the part. Their lives are being negatively impacted. I hope you can gather enough complaints and force GM to recall these modules or come up with a solution. This is dangerous and extremely frustrating for many consumers. Thank you for your time. PS - I can provide the invoice for the module replacement if you need it.

When letting off the accelerator to slow coming to a stop I would press the brake pedal. but the motor would increase RPMs and I had to use both feet to stop the vehicle. Then I had to put the car in neutral and the RPMs would increase even though I was at a stop and then I had to put it in Park before the RPMs would drop. I removed the driver's floor mat encase it was effecting the accelerator. The vehicle didn't act this violent but it failed to decelerate several times before I could get it to my local dealer.

November 2024 his vehicle was purchased used with only 5600 miles on it an unaware that this vehicle did not have the side blind alert or rear cross traffic alert. It was after downloading the original window sticker it was noticed that the vehicle did not have these safety features. The original window sticker shows a $ 350.00 credit for these safety features. My opinion these safety features should be required. This Buick was purchased through a Ford dealer as used and we were not informed of this. In doing some research it appears that GM had a chip issue and this is the reason for the credit. I don't understand how the forward safety features are installed but the rear safety features are deleted. I don't think that Buick and GM should have been allowed to sell a vehicle that didn't include these important safety features.

The contact owns a 2023 Buick Envision. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brakes failed to immediately activate while depressing the brake pedal. The contact attempted to steer the vehicle to prevent crashing into the vehicle in front and became aware that the vehicle had lost power steering functionality. The contact had to depress the brake pedal to the floorboard for the vehicle to come to a stop. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake module had failed; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the steering failure. RE: N222375790-06. Due to the industry-wide semiconductor shortage, the park assist feature is not functional on this car. I was informed of this at the time of sale and told that when parts were available I would be contacted for a "no additional cost retrofit". I have not been contacted and Buick now tells me I have to use NHTSA.gov to report this issue so that my vehicle is marked "Open" on the Investigate Vehicle History screen of the GM Global Warranty Management system.

2023 Buick Envision. Brakes failed. This was a new car driven 1k miles. There was no warning notification, no alert and no dashboard lights prior to this incident. Of course I had expected the normal brake resistance when I stepped on the pedal. Instead, my foot sunk closer to the floor. I pressed the pedal as hard as I could a few times until it slowed to a stop. I do not drive fast so this was to my advantage. I was later told that the Allstate Milewise device that I had been using was not recommended but in this case it was not a factor. The service manager shared documentation that there was potential system conflicts with this. This was not disclosed to me with my 2020 Envision. Therefore, I continued to use it in the 2023 vehicle. I forwarded the information to Allstate, so they could investigate further. I received call back saying to return the device and find alternative insurance options. When I was told to pick up my car, I asked what was found to cause the brake failure and to highlight the fix in the receipt. A reset of the software was the final fix: LOOKS LIKE ALL MODULES ON CAN BUS 2 LOST BRAKE CONTROL MODULE TESTED CHARGING SYSTEM WITH THE DCBS AND PASSED PERFORMED GLOBAL RESET SCANNED ALL MODULES DID FIND UPDATE FOR THE SERIAL DATA GATEWAY UPDATE MODULE 45YY212842554” I was told that until this happens again that is all they can do.

I had the brake fail twice in the past 2 months while driving the vehicle and was not able to stop it. I kept pushing on the break pedal but vehicle wouldn't slow down. I was only able to stop the vehicle by shifting the gear to neutral and letting the car come to stop on its own. While driving along, multiple signs such as malfunction indicator light, brake light, ABS light, traction control, electronic stability control, Forward collision system failure etc lit up on the dashboard and I could no longer slow the vehicle down using the brake pedal. The image of the dashboard with all the lit up signs is attached for your reference. Once the vehicle came to stop, I turned it off and waited to catch my breath. When I turned the vehicle back on, most lights were off but malfunction indicator light was stayed on. However, brake started working. I narrowly avoided hitting a car in front of me on the highway because I couldn't slow down the vehicle. I would have hit the vehicle in front of me if it had slowed down. It put my life along with of those around me on the freeway in danger and it could have turned out a lot worse. I am taking the vehicle to the dealership tomorrow morning. Prior to the brake fail, there were no warning lights, messages, or other symptoms of the problem. The warning lights only came on while I was driving and the brake was no longer working.
