“The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving over bumps, the vehicle made an abnormal, increasingly loud squeaking sound. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where the failure was identified as a defective driver’s side rear coil spring that required replacement; however, the part was on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the dealer's possession. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.”

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the rear coil springs and shocks needed to be replaced; however, the parts were on back order. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but declined to provide further assistance because the vehicle had not received the oil change services at the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 36,800.”

“When vehicle was stopped, a loud metallic snap occurred and the back end of the minivan rocked. Van was taken in to get checked and the rear driver spring was broken. Both rear springs and shocks were replaced. Vehicle only has 51,054 miles and mechanics said springs should last much longer. Also, same day that this van was take in for service, the mechanics told me that another 2022 Honda Odyssey had just come in with the exact same problem.”
