“Crack in body seam above driver and passenger side of the tailgate AND underneath the roof rail cover caused water leakage. This resulted in a short of the power tailgate control module which draws down my battery and causes unexpected trunk closing during normal use. Family members have been hit in the head by the trunk due to the unexpected automatic emergency closing.”

“For a couple of weeks we have been having issues with our 2018 Honda Odyssey's back right door. When you go to open it, something happens where it makes it shut after fully opening. Our resolution for the time was to just push on the door harder and it would continue to slide open. Today, on XXX I was going to put my [XXX] son in his carseat, which is located mid van right side. He snuck infront of me and was standing in the path of the sliding door, it did what it normally does, the same door did not detect his body and began shutting on him. As it was squeezing his shoulders I was pushing back on the sliding door with all my strength, and after a few seconds it opened back up. I'm not sure whether the sensor failed, or it can't detect past a certain height, but either way it was a very scary situation. This had just happened an hour ago, so I haven't reported it to any authorities or anything. I came home and googled how to make a manufacturer report and it lead me here. If I had not been standing behind my son, I believe the door would have continued shutting more, enough to sustain serious injuries if not more. My son physically was okay, aside from a red mark on his upper arm where the door was shutting on him, he did need at least 5 minutes of consoling after, which only happens when something truly hurt him. “ON JUNE 3RD MY 4 YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SECURELY RESTRAINED IN HER BRITAX CLIGHTIGHT 5 POINT HARNESS IN THE SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER IN THE MIDDLE ROW. WE WERE PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AFTER A GROCERY TRIP AND I WAS GETTING READY TO RETURN HOME AFTER SHOPPING. I PUT HER IN THE CAR AND CLOSED THE DOOR OF THE VAN. SHE TRIED STOPPING THE DOOR WITH HER FOOT BUT HER FOOT DIDN'T REACH THE PRESSURE SENSOR ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR (THE THIN BLACK TUBING ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE) SO THE DOOR CLOSED ON HER FOOT CAUSING BRUISING.I TALKED TO 3 HONDA DEALERS AND I HAVE A COMPLAINT FILED WITH HONDA. WHEN HONDA RETURNED MY CALL I WAS INSTRUCTED THAT HIS JOB WAS TO INFORM ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS LIMITATIONS AND THAT THE LAST THREE INCHES OF THE DOOR IS THE "POINT OF NO RETURN" WHERE THE DOOR NEEDS MOMENTUM TO LOCK. THE LAST EXPERIENCE WAS AT THE HONDA STORE WHERE A SALESMAN SHOWED ME THE 2019 HONDA. I DESCRIBED THE INCIDENT TO HIM AND ASKED HIM TO TRY STOPPING THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE WITHOUT TOUCHING THE SENSOR ON THE OUTSIDE. HE FIRST TOUCHED THE OUTSIDE SENSOR. I HAD HIM RETRY STOPPING THE DOOR ONLY APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR WHERE MY DAUGHTERS FOOT WAS. HE SAID THE "POINT OF NO RETURN" ARGUMENT FROM HONDA OVER THE PHONE WASN'T TRUE BECAUSE THE PRESSURE SENSOR STOPPED THE DOOR WHEN HE TOUCHED IT AN INCH FROM THE DOOR. HE TOLD ME HE THOUGHT IT WAS ODD BECAUSE THE TAILGATE RETRACTS WHEN TOUCHED. HE TOLD ME HE WAS GOING TO FIND OUT WHO I SHOULD CONTACT BUT NEVER GOT BACK TO ME. NO ONE CAN TELL ME HOW MUCH PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO MY DAUGHTERS FOOT THAT CAUSED THE SERVE BRUISING.”

“I am reporting American Honda’s ongoing failure to safely remedy critical safety defects and recalls on my 2018 Honda Odyssey (purchased new), resulting in severe vehicle degradation and a life-threatening traffic hazard. The vehicle has been to an authorized dealer over 21 times.SAFETY RECALL NEGLIGENCE & POWERTAIN DAMAGE: At 95k miles, the vehicle displayed active check engine codes P0087 (Low Fuel Pressure), P0420, and P0430. The dealer replaced injectors, but severe fuel issues persisted. The dealer utilized stall tactics, claiming they "could not duplicate" ongoing stalling/hesitation symptoms. When the official fuel pump recall was issued, the bulletin mandated priority service for vehicles actively displaying symptoms. My vehicle met these parameters. However, when I attempted to get the recall performed at 111k and 120k miles, the dealer denied service due to part shortages, instructing me to drive the vehicle until it "completely broke down." Because Honda failed to supply recall parts to a symptomatic vehicle, I was forced to drive it a defective car for an additional 46,000 miles. A replacement pump was installed at 166k miles, but the prolonged forced operation directly caused the high pressure pump to fail and raw fuel to melt both catalytic converters. The dealer issued a $6,000 repair estimate for damage engineered entirely by Honda's recall delays.LIFE-THREATENING TCM FAILURE: One day after a related service visit, the Transmission Control Module suffered a catastrophic electrical failure. The engine completely shut off without warning while I was actively facing four lanes of oncoming traffic, creating an immediate, severe collision risk.BROKEN SLIDING DOORS: The power sliding doors failed under 12 months of ownership. Despite 7+ repair attempts, they remain broken, posing a severe structural/occupant safety hazard. Requests for trade-in intervention since 60k miles were systematically ignored.”
