“My daughter along with my son in law had parked the car under the carport, once parked they got out to get my grandchildren out, My son in law get the baby on the passengers side while my daughter the drivers. My son in law got his side and shut the door. My daughter takes a bit longer because my oldest grandboy has special needs and takes a little longer. Once she shut his door with the drivers door still open the car rolled back. The drivers door struck my daughters knocking her down to the concrete. She had to toss my grandson to get him clear of the car, His head also struck the concrete. The car then ran over my daughters upper right leg. the car proceeding down hill and across the street where it struck the house across the street. Police and EMS where called, at the time my daughter refused transport. I took her the the ER , nothing was broken but she had major contusions and pain, My grandson was taken by POV the the Children's hospital to have his shunt checked. After a couple days my daughter was still complain of a headache and eye pain, she went back to the ER where she was diagnosed with a concussion. The car is currently at the dealership”

“My vehicle transmission gear selector went out I believe. While having my mechanic try to see if something was happening with transmission, the vehicle was placed into neutral and the tires started spinning as if it were in drive. The vehicle does not do the appropriate action when the gear is selected. In addition, it will not reverse when selected. When the mechanic was looking at transmission and wheels began to spin while in neutral, he was under car near front tire and injured his hand due to the vehicle not doing the appropriate action. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. There was a prior recall on the same issue for model year up to 2019 however mine is a 2020. I have seen numerous complaints of the same issue in many online forums but ford has offered no help. They have not offered anything more on this issue except for an astronomical quote to have it tested and no actual idea on how to fix it. There were zero lights that came on regarding the issue and I had no warning while driving my vehicle that stopped and would not proceed to drive when it was driving perfectly fine right before.”

“Torque Converter failed Car jerks at low speeds. Car was unsafe to drive, vehicle had trouble accelerating when needed. Ford Garage inspected vehicle and diagnosed the problem. There was no warning lamps or messages.”

“Recently had the torque converter replaced for shuddering/shifting weird. Although there is no more shuddering, the car still does not seem to be shifting correctly. It hesitates between shifting gears and will then accelerate quickly. It was seen at the shop again today and they could not find any issues with it although I was told it will likely do it again for me and to let them know. There have not been an indicator lights.”

“At approximately 100,000 miles vehicle began shuddering at 25mph and 35mph. At 103,000 miles the transmission needs a full rebuild. Im told this is a $7,500 repair job and I still owe over $20,000.00.”

“Hesitation with shifting when driving at low speeds. The powertrain control system has detected one of the transmission clutches did not apply within the expected time as expected. Some transmission gears may not being available resulting in delayed or harsh shifts into another gear.”

“I own a 2020 Ford Edge ST with approximately 62,460 miles. My vehicle has developed a loud noise coming from the rear differential, particularly when turning at low speeds. On July 6, 2026, I had the vehicle inspected by my independent mechanic, Kenny's Quick Service. Ford Motor Company has not inspected my vehicle. My mechanic documented the following: "Customer has a noise in the rear of vehicle. Checked vehicle and found noise in rear differential, when turning at low speeds. Checked fluid and fluid is not at proper level, differential could possibly come apart. Differential needs to be replaced." Based on this inspection, my mechanic advised me not to continue driving the vehicle because of the condition of the rear differential. I was advised that if the differential completely fails, the vehicle could stop moving and potentially create a dangerous situation, including the possibility of an accident. The vehicle is currently not being driven because of this safety concern. This issue concerns me because Ford previously issued Safety Recall 21S02 involving certain 2020-2021 Ford Edge vehicles and a low-fluid condition in the rear drive unit. According to the recall information, inadequate lubrication could cause the rear drive unit to seize, resulting in loss of drive and/or loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash. My vehicle is a 2020 Ford Edge ST, but my VIN is not included in the 21S02 recall. Despite not being included in the recall, my independent mechanic has now diagnosed a rear differential problem involving an improper fluid level and a condition requiring replacement of the differential. The similarity between the recalled condition and the condition diagnosed in my vehicle concerns me greatly. The estimated cost to replace the rear differential has been verbally stated to be approximately $3,000 to $5,000. I have not yet received a formal written repair estimate. I have contacted Ford Motor Company regarding this issue. Ford opened”

“transmission, skipping and shuttering and according to dealership not catching gear occurs during slow speeds. When in drive car will roll backwards and when in reverse car will roll forward. Transmission runs high until gear catches. Engine will then go in to neutral until clutch catches.in according to dealership repair will cost $7000-$11,000. i was told this is unusual. And none of it is covered under warranty”

“I was on a highway going 75 and my car just slowed down and i was in front of a semi truck then the gears wouldn’t shift i was stalled in that lane everything else worked but the gears wouldn’t shift into place i got it in neutral and pushed it to the side”

“Car is glitching, jerking between 20-40 mph there is a burnt smell also Car jerks when put in drive and reverse. Car jerks when driving FORD and AAMCO SAID WE NEED NEW REBUILD TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE FOR $7,500 car only has 53,400 miles 6 years old”
