The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“The contact owned a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that his wife was driving at 60 MPH, when another vehicle struck the rear driver's side, causing the vehicle to spin and crash into a semi-truck's trailer. The contact stated that the tires had caved in as a result of the collision. The air bags did not deploy. The contact's wife's head struck the steering wheel and the front driver's side window. The contact's wife suffered cuts, bruises, and bumps on her forehead, hands, and arms. The contact's parents were also present in the vehicle. The contact's father suffered head, hand, and wrist injuries, while the contact's mother suffered six broken ribs and two broken hands. The contact's wife and parents were transported to the hospital via ambulance. The vehicle was towed to the tow yard and was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and after reviewing the crash report data, the contact was informed that the air bag system was operating properly, and the criteria were not met for the air bags to deploy. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.”
The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“OUR VEHICLE WAS STRUCK FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE - REAR AT AN ESTIMATED 60MPH SPEED DIFFERENCE. (IT IS THOUGHT WE WERE SLOWED TO APPROX 25MPH, OTHER CAR WAS PROBABLY 80MPH OR MORE). THIS HAPPENED ON I95 IN LUMBERTON NC. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS IN LEFT LANE, WE WERE IN RIGHT LANE. THE OTHER VEHICLE SWERVED INTO OUR LANE HITTING US "QUARTERING" FROM LEFT REAR. FORCE WAS HARD ENOUGH TO DEFORM RIGHT SIDE OF CAR WHICH CAME IN CONTACT WITH NOTHING. AS THE DRIVER, I STRUCK THE INTERIOR WITH ENOUGH FORCE TO CAUSE A "SEVERE" CONCUSSION. NO SIDE CURTAINS DEPLOYED, AND I DO NOT BELIEVE THE SEAT BELTS TENSIONED TO RESTRAIN ME IN THE SEAT. MY LEFT SHOULDER, ARM, AND ELBOW WERE ALSO INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SUFFERED INJURIES TO HER LEFT ARM, AND RECOILED STRIKING THE INSIDE OF THE RIGHT INTERIOR. THIS CAUSED HEAD TRAUMA AS WELL. WE DON'T BELIEVE THE SEAT BELT TENSIONED. PASSENGER IN THE BACK SEAT, RIGHT SIDE ALSO SUFFERED INJURY. NOT AS SEVERE AS FRONT SEAT OCCUPANTS. HE WAS THROW AROUND IN THE VEHICLE, IT IS UNKNOWN IF HIS BELTS TENSIONED. ALL 3 HAD TO BE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE FOR INJURIES SUFFERED. THERE IS A WARNING DISPLAYED IN THE DASH STATING, "SRS AIRBAG SYSTEM MALFUNTION VISIT YOUR DEALER" I BELIEVE HAD SEATBELTS TENSIONED, SIDE CURTAINS DEPLOYED, MY INJURIES WOULD BE MUCH LESS. THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED 10/11/2020, WEATHER WAS OVERCAST BUT DRY. CRASH FORCE WAS SUFFICIENT TO CAUSE BODY WORK DEFORMATION ON RIGHT SIDE OF VEHICLE, WHICH CAME IN CONTACT WITH NO OBJECTS.”
The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“I was in an accident, going about 40mph (about 30mph at time of impact), and no airbags were deployed. Police officer reported that he also did not see that the tension of the seat belt remained tense after the crash. Seems that there was a problem with both systems. The other vehicle had all their airbags deploy.”
The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“Airbags failed in accident passenger and I were hurt and significantly impacted and then informed about recall after the fact recall number is 23TB15/23TA15”

“A car turned in front of my daughter and her boyfriend. They were going 40 MPH and there is severe damage to the front of the vehicle. The car will be totaled. Not one air bag deployed. All first responders were very surprised and cautious that even them exiting the damaged vehicle could set them off. They were told "not to move" until they could investigate a safe way for them to leave the car.”
The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Camry XLE. The contact stated while driving approximately 26 MPH, an 18-wheeler vehicle crashed into the rear of his vehicle twice. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts failed to engage. The message "Air Bag System Malfunction" was displayed. The contact sustained whiplash and hit his head against the steering wheel. The contact sought medical assistance the next day and was diagnosed with a herniated disk and torn muscles in the back. As a result, the contact had undergone left shoulder surgery. The contact's sister sustain whiplash, hit her head and face against the passenger's side door and sustained soreness and bruises on the right side of her face. The emergency units transported the contact's sister to the hospital where she received medical assistance. A police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to his residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired for air bags and seat belt failure. The contact stated that the event data recorder (EDR) indicated that the vehicle had only sustained one impact; however, the vehicle had sustained two impacts as it was rear-ended twice. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance or explanation for the erroneous report of the event data recorder (EDR). The failure mileage was approximately 17,000.”

“This 2020 Camry's transmission will be fine and then when you let off the throttle it will begin to slow as it should. However, when you reapply the throttle the transmission slams very forefully into gear and jolts the car forward violently. Idl'd heard about this on numsrous Camry's before, but until I owned one I had no idea how bad this is... it is not safe. Toyota needs to correct this problem for all their vehicles.”

“The check engine light illuminated on my 2020 Toyota Camry XSE 2.5L with approximately 132,798 miles. An OBD2 scan revealed fault code P26AE — Engine Coolant Bypass Valve 'B' Control Circuit High. This is a known widespread defect affecting 2018-2022 Toyota Camry, RAV4, and Corolla vehicles equipped with the 2.5L Dynamic Force engine. The plastic valve casing is prone to cracking, allowing coolant to seep into the electrical connector and corrode the pins, triggering the fault. Toyota has acknowledged this issue through a Customer Support Program offering free replacement on qualifying vehicles, however many owners are still being quoted $900-$1,300 at dealerships. The faulty valve affects the engine coolant flow control system and transmission cooling circuit. Warning light appeared suddenly after a routine fuel fill. Vehicle has not yet been inspected by dealer. Component is available for inspection upon request."”

“I purchased my vehicle from a certified used car dealership in Connecticut in 2020 with a little over 1800 miles. Since purchasing the vehicle, it has been very reluctant to down shift and had slight transmission whine. I was notified of a recall for I believe the TCM a few months after purchasing it, which i had remedied by the dealership. Over the years, my car has been maintained completely to Toyotas manufacturer standard. Around 50,000 miles i started experiencing shuddering during shifts and slipping during shifts and a louder whine Around 89,000 miles my transmission symptoms worsened. Sporadic shifting, obvious whine, grinding and clunking during shifts and shifting between gears, and clicking from a stop. At 97k i serviced the transmission fluid which seemed to help a little bit but did not get rid of the symptoms fully. The fluid was dark brown, which was serviced 3,000 miles before Toyotas recommended interval. I then replaced the driver side cv axle shaft which also did not remedy any symptoms and i was notified by my shop that it was premature transmission failure. Now at 100,998 miles, my transmission grinds and clunks during all lower gear shifts, will shift through gears while maintaining steady speed, and whines audibly from the exterior and interior. My car is still running and driving for now, but after research this is a very common issue with the UA80E transmission and Toyota has knowingly sold these cars with these production errors putting people at risk of injury and financial nightmares.”

“Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid and Lexus ES300h and 2019-2020 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles equipped with 2.5L 4-Cylinder engines. Porosity in the engine castings may result in cracks than can allow coolant to leak internally and/or externally.
A coolant leak can cause the engine to overheat and cause a vehicle stall in conventional gasoline vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, for all involved vehicles, the engine may get damaged mechanically, possibly resulting in an engine oil leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
“The contact owned a 2020 Toyota Camry. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 MPH, he crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact suffered injuries to both shoulders and his back but did not seek medical treatment. The other driver was injured and transported to the hospital for an injury to his back. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard and then towed to a collision center. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a claim was filed.

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the engine including the engine block, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 3, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's number for this recall is 20TA04. Lexus' number for this recall is 20LA02.”
