“I was stopped in traffic on a local freeway at rush hour. The vehicle behind me was slowing to a stop. An SUV did not slow down and hit the vehicle behind me at approximately 60 mph. That vehicle was flipped when the SUV collided with it. The SUV collided with me, pushing my vehicle into a van in front of me and then sending my vehicle across 3 lanes of the highway. In the initial impact, my seat back was bent backwards and twisted from the initial impact. With the second impact, I was then thrown forward and my face hit the steering column and my right side and arm hit the center console. I was wearing my seatbelt. The cabin briefly filled with smoke which may have been from the engine failure. None of the airbag deployed.”

“Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018 F-150, 2018-2020 F-250, F-350, and 2019 Escape vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.
Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

“On 9/14/23 after starting car parked on level surface, I placed car in Drive, but it went in Reverse. The vehicle was supposedly repaired for Safety Recall Notice 22S43 by dealer. I placed car back in park, then shifted back to Drive and it moved forward as expected. Later in day while my wife was driving, she experienced difficulty in disengaging cruise control and when she tapped brakes, vehicle began spinning 360 degrees, slid sideways off interstate, and auto was totaled. Upon impact the right, rear passenger door was unlocked and somehow opened on its own ejecting passenger. Vehicle is currently in salvage yard at IAA Odgen, 1800 S 1100 West, Ogden, UT 84401. I don't know if the faulty transmission had anything to do with accident, but it seems like today we drive computers and not a mechanical motor vehicle.”

The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The contact stated that the failure mileage was about 33,644.”

“The contact owned a 2019 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked at a fuel pump, the vehicle began rolling backward on its own. The contact attempted to enter the vehicle to stop the momentum; however, the vehicle rolled over her left foot. The vehicle continued to roll backward and hit a curb which stopped the vehicle. A couple and the gas attendant came to the contact aide while another person parked her vehicle. The couple informed the contact that there may have been a recall placed on the vehicle for the failure. The contact stated the Akron Police Dept. said a police report could not be filed because the incident happened on private property.. The contact was taken by her brother to the emergency room where she was treated for injuries to her left foot and right shoulder. The contact sought further treatment for her foot and was placed in physical therapy. The air bags did not deploy. The contact was able to return to the fuel station and drove the vehicle home. The dealer was notified of the failure and towed the vehicle to their location and gave the contact a loaner vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that her vehicle was under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000(Power Train). The dealer notified the manufacturer about the failure and the dealer informed her that a case had been filed. The contact eventually received a letter for the recall on her vehicle. The contact also received a letter from the manufacturer which stated that since the investigators could not replicate the failure with the vehicle; they would not cover any medical bills and that her case was closed. The contact was informed that the recall was performed on the vehicle; however, she refused to take back possession of the vehicle. The failure mileage was unknown.”

“2019 FORD ESCAPE //// Mileage 103,457//6F35 transmission First towed on May 24, 2026 - Vehicle is still at Empire Ford Service in Huntington, NY First Ford replaced Shifter Cable Bushing Rollaway (2013-2019 Models) as per the recall. They said all is fixed no charge since it was the recall. I had the SUV for only one day from the recall repair and it broke down on the highway and would not stay running when put into gear. Now after keeping my car for about a week the service person said they were finally able to replicate the issue and pull up a fault code that points the issue to the valve body inside the transmission. He said at a minimum it will cost $2,800 plus tax unless they find more damage when they open up the transmission. The cost can/will possibly be more. I explained I am Disabled and on a fixed income and can't afford a large bill as I don't have that kind of money available to me. I asked about a payment plan and was sent to an online company called Sunlit to fill out the approval paperwork. I was approved for $4,200 dollars for repairs with $1,260 due at checkout and a 18 month $197.53 payment. At 24.99% APR, $615.52 Interest which puts the repayment amount at $4,815,52 (Screenshot available). All this without even knowing what the cost of the repair is yet. I continue to read that Ford knew that the 6F35 transmission has known issues but they did not inform the consumers. They charged me $2,988.11 for the valve body repair which I paid when I picked up the escape on June 18, 2026. I drove the escape 8 miles from Empire Ford Service and it broke down again. I got in touch with Joshua Gorman in service whom I have been working with directly. After explaining to him I called Ford towing from my Ford App and I was towed back to Ford service and was informed on June 26, 2026 that they were able to look into the vehicle and it now needs a new transmission which will cost me $8,500. It would put the repair cost at $11,488.11. I really could use some help”

The records describe a possible crash, fire, injury, or loss of control.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2021. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 21S10.”

“Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. “Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Focus, 2013-2019 Escape, and 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.
An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord.
